    FireFox v52 ends NPAPI Support

    >Several threads have already been created and discussed this. I did a "FireFox" search, but must have missed them. I figured this was not "breaking news" but not finding a thread that obviously addressed this issue I created this one. >Your 51 will update again it's just a matter of time...

    FireFox v52 ends NPAPI Support

Yes, I did try that under Windows 10 and it does work. BTW, what causes the browser when connected to the camera to prompt there is a new version of the software every time I login to the camera? I believe I told it to install the newer version, but this messages seems persistent.

    Import Device Configuration

Perhaps answering my own question, I discovered the two cameras have slightly different firmware versions (v5.4.3 vs v5.4.4). I am not sure if that would prevent exported device parameters from one camera being imported into the other.

    FireFox v52 ends NPAPI Support

FireFox v52 began rolling out earlier this month. Apparently it no longer supports NPAPI-based plugins, like the Hikvision's Webcomponents. I had been using Firefox to manage my camera and suddenly it stopped working, because it automatically updated to v52. I uninstalled and re-installed v51...

    Import Device Configuration

Hi, Is there a trick to using the "Import Config File" feature of the camera (DS-2CD2542FWD-IS) to set the device parameters of a new camera? When I try to import the device parameters I exported from a identical camera (aside for the field of view) the Importing dialog box seems to stay on the...

    Resolution vs Frame Rate

Right, but I cannot change the image sensor in my camera. Your advice is great if I was shopping for cameras, but the question was related to configuration considerations (resolution vs frame rate). Please correct me if I misunderstood your point. Thanks!

    Resolution vs Frame Rate

I am looking for guidance for selection of 4MP (2688 x 1520 @ 20 fps) vs 2MP (1920 x 1080 @ 30 fps) operation for an indoor mini-dome. Will it be easier to grab a clearer picture of a moving face at 30 fps or will the higher resolution at 20 fps be better. Any practical guidance? The camera has...

    Indoor Wall Mount for DS-2CD2542FWD-IS

Actually attaching the camera bracket to the wall mount to the so that it is not square to the front of the mount (as shown below) allows the camera to be independently attached to the bracket and the bracket to be attached to the wall mount. The 3-axis adjustment of the camera can be used to...

    Indoor Wall Mount for DS-2CD2542FWD-IS

Is the Hikvision "DS-1258ZJ" the correct indoor wall mount for the DS-2CD2542FWD-IS mini-dome? I ask because the camera's mounting plate seems to attached to the "DS-1258ZJ" through the same two bracket holes as the camera wants to use to mate with the bracket. What I ended up doing is using...

    Audio on DS-2CD2542FWD-IS

Hi, I am new to the Hikvision world. The spec sheet for the DS-2CD2542FWD-IS mini-dome states "built-in microphone". I have not be able to hear any audio from the camera's Live view. I enabled camera to encode both audio and video. Any insights or suggestions? --Rob

Unable to change new DS-2CD2542FWD-IS camera IP address with SADP software

I freshly downloaded SADP from the HIKVision USA, although if is showing v 2.1. What I downloaded as the HIKVision Tools software, that included SADP. I see there is a v3 of SADP that is separate of the HIKVision tool. I just downloaded this "raw" SADP that appears to be newer than the one...

Unable to change new DS-2CD2542FWD-IS camera IP address with SADP software

I encountered the same issue trying to initially use the SADP tool. So to clarify the solution, I first open a browser (Firefox seems to work best) to the default IP address of the camera (in may case it shipped with 192.168.1.64), which prompts you to create a admin password. If you LAN is not...
