    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi tangent When I was testing the built in relay circuit of the pir I had to add 5-6v to the NO/NC circuit to make it work as they are dry contacts in the PIR, and yes it worked fine with the Sealevel device upon motion. So I can just connect the +5v NO switch to the high/low level input of...

Question regarding 'relative to sunrise sunset'

Thanks for the reply, yes that's what I did to select the check box, did that for both of those pointy bubbles. My concern is that when I click ok and close the settings window, if I reopen it and go to schedule, the sunrise sunset option appears greyed out and unchecked. But thinking about...

Question regarding 'relative to sunrise sunset'

hi everyone I'm setting up the global schedule for all days of the week to have profile 1 daytime and profile 3 sunset to sunrise. Now I have successfully partitioned each day into the two profiles and I dragged the bubbles to the yellow balls showing sunrise and sunset for my geo location...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Many thanks for all your help tangent. I have ordered those Opto relays you suggested and have got the resistors too. Got that buck converter for the 5V supply. Will let you know how it all goes once I get the parts and get started.

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Many thanks for that info, I understand pull up now after reading for ages last night and watching videos on YouTube. Got another question regarding the 5v power supply to the pir with that buck converter. It's rated as 3A but because it will be feeding from 12v regulated psu with 1.2A max...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi tangent, thanks for that info. I might just order two of those opto relays and wire it up your way. I got an A* in GCSE electronics but that was nearly 20 years ago!! Lol now I'm an optometrist (eyes) therefore my electronics knowledge has gone down the drain, although I'm pretty good at...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi tangent, amazing knowledge and thanks for that schematic! I've ordered the following step downs in 5v and 6v from china, thought I'd order both voltages just in case as they are so cheap anyway: Waterproof DC to DC buck Converter 12V to 3/3.3/3.7/5/6/9V Power Module Supply | eBay The...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Camfan and tangent, many thanks for your help. I am using the Sealevel DIO 8112 unit with Blue Iris for my PIRs. The 8112 inputs seem to be very sensitive to low current as I've successfully triggered the input with the wireless pir I just got. Here are my findings: I first added a 9v...

    Help hardwiring a wireless PIR

Hi everyone Long story short, I got a high end optex outdoor PIR at a bargain price but problem is it's the wireless version designed to be fitted to a small transmitter. The PIR does have all the terminals as you would find in the same wired version. The big difference however is that the...

Would 2nd Gen i3 or i5 be ok? (Motion sensing off)

Ahhh ok, thanks for that useful information. I'm going to stick to third gen like my MacBook. I can get an i5 3rd gen base with 8gb ram for around £150 mark. The HP/Compaq range on eBay is cheaper than optiplex and appears to offer so much more for the money. Would you recommend HP desktops...

Would 2nd Gen i3 or i5 be ok? (Motion sensing off)

Thanks I just figured it out, settings were enabled in the Intel HD app, but I had to go to that small battery icon in bottom left of windows task bar and select 'high performance' instead of balanced. Also tweaked a few more things in that profile while at it. Have enabled hardware...

Would 2nd Gen i3 or i5 be ok? (Motion sensing off)

Hi Fenderman I'm using Windows 8.1 as a clean install using boot camp, not running it from the Mac OS. I boot in to windows from powering up. So it's not in VM mode. Will this still not allow hardware acceleration? I've selected the 'No PPV' option in acceleration because if I select 'PPV' for...

Would 2nd Gen i3 or i5 be ok? (Motion sensing off)

All is working well but have a quick question regarding purchasing a dedicated desktop machine. I won't be using software motion sensor in blue iris and no re-encoding either. I have 4 hikvision cameras at 4MP at 15FPS with direct to disc enabled and the Sealevel DIO connected to PIRs. I'm...

Digital I/O causes BI4 to freeze

Hi everyone I had purchased the 'USB' 8112 Sealevel device after advice from Ken/Blue Iris Support and Sealevel themselves, and I have no regret, although it did cost £186 delivered!!! Has worked flawlessly so far straight out of the box. Just had to install drivers first, then plug in to USB...

Digital I/O causes BI4 to freeze

I have called sealevel sales today and they are saying that the USB 8112 version is by far the most popular for blue iris and that they sell a few hundred each year just for use with blue iris. They haven't had any returns. I'm going to give the USB 8112 a shot with my PIRs.

Digital I/O causes BI4 to freeze

Also, what email address is it for support? I've emailed support and had no replies, I also included my serial number. it's been a good few days, I would like to ask if the USB would be 100% reliable. Thanks

Digital I/O causes BI4 to freeze

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. I see another update was released yesterday, have you tried this yet? Also, I'm now thinking of purchasing the USB version (8112) instead, may be this will not have the issues as it's not Ethernet?

Digital I/O causes BI4 to freeze

Hi Eric Any update on this problem as I was thinking of buying the sealevel to use with pir but there is no way I'm doing it if it's not reliable. Whole point of pir is for 100% reliable motion detection Thanks

    Real Motion Detection

Hi fenderman, I have bought blue iris and have been playing around with motion detection, fine tuning it as the days and nights pass. However, I am also looking into the sealevel unit and pirs. I have been searching on eBay for a sealevel unit but cannot find anything under any country!! Lol...

Cats and narrow hallway - lens angle and 90 deg rotation

Just an update. After playing around so much with all the different built in motion detection technique in the Hikvision cameras for many weeks i have finally installed and bought Blue Iris. So far very impressed as it seems to be very powerful with motion detection. I'm still getting false...

    Push notifications just stopped

Hi Simon247 You seem to know a lot about the hikvision iVMS-4500 on the iPhone and I'm new to CCTV and have purchased some 2342 turrets. Impressed so far. My main usage would be 24/7 recording and then monitoring through iVMS-4500 on my iPhone. I was using the hik connect app at first through...

Cats and narrow hallway - lens angle and 90 deg rotation

Many thanks for the replies, I'll give blue iris a shot. I've been using the hikvision cameras built in web interface. In the live view at the bottom it only gives option of 16:9, 4:3, and full stretch

Cats and narrow hallway - lens angle and 90 deg rotation

Hi bp2008. I have recently installed one Hikvision 2342 Turrett along the narrow walk to one side of my detached bungalow and have done exactly what you said, turn the camera 90 deg and then do the rotate function. I have turned the camera 90 deg and indeed get a nice long view of that path...
