IPC-HDW5231R-ZE - Can't get to record on SD card

Well it was either the "factory default" option or the fact that I unselected general and alarm for the record schedule, but it's now working. Now I can hope to get this set up in time to capture the morons in my neighborhood chucking m80's and shooting bottle rockets into the trees. Thanks.

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE - Can't get to record on SD card

It only worked to see the SD card again. Are you talking about " factory default" option?

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE - Can't get to record on SD card

I power cycled the camera and now see the SD card. Is that what you are referring to or is it something different?

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE - Can't get to record on SD card

Yes, I did format the card. Before it was formated it showed that it was there and after formating it I no longer see it.

IPC-HDW5231R-ZE - Can't get to record on SD card

I recently bought and setup an IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and I can't figure out why it won't record to the SD card. I'm not finding any clues as to why. I've checked the scheduled settings and they are set to record but when I go to the playback nothing is there.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

Where exactly? I'm in the camera settings, record control? I have the event settings set to record motion.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

On the topic of recordings, I just got an IPC-HDW5231R-ZE and can't get it to recording anything on the SD card I've searched the forum but I'm not finding any clues.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

Just to clarify, I currently don't monitor live or watch the playback and Web browse similtaneosly. I scroll through the pervious nights clips and close the Hikvision or Duhua program when done.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

Really? The whole machine needs to be dedicated just for 2 cameras? I don't know, I might have to reconsider, maybe an NVR is better option or neither . The only thing that I really want is the ability to fast forward faster more than 4x speed that I'm using now.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

Thanks for the clarification. Both cameras have 128 GB SD cards and I'm okay with using those for storage. As far as the big tower being an energy hog that's definitely something I want to avoid, my girlfriend is an energy Nazi and watches the electric bill like a hawk. I currently use a mid...

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

Just to clarify, is a small for factor desktop considered a mini pc? I'm looking on Ebay and there are a lot of Dell optiplex machines with 5th and 6th gen I-5 processors. Here's an example. Dell Optiplex 7040 SFF Computer i5-6500 3.2Ghz Quad-Core 4GB DDR4 500GB Win10 | eBay

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

The computer is listed on Craigslist and they seller list it as 5350. It is a small form factor so it might in fact 5350u.

Wondering if this PC will be good enough for Blue Iris.

I've been reading the threads on which pc to get for Blue Iris and an Optiplex 9020 was one that was suggested. So I was about to pull the trigger on a used 9020 small form factor that has an I5-5350 cpu and noticed that on another thread the recommendation is no less than I5-6400. I'm...

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

Okay, I checked it out. I thought that would put the camera at a strange angle.

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

Okay, I see what you mean with the wall mount plate. It's just that I'm trying to make the camera inconspicuous. That's why I like the mini dome, they don't seem so noticeable but I won't rule out a turret if it's small enough in size.

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

Yes I know the domes are not entirely vandal proof but they're aren't as easy to grab. I can't go with the turret style because I don't have an overhead ceiling to mount it on. I might consider just going with a bullet style and trying to make it harder than usual to remove. I already have an...

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

That's disappointing because vandal proof is one of my main objectives. I'm putting the camera in a spot where someone could reach it and I don't want it stolen.

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

Okay, I not so sold on the PTZ can anyone just recommend a good dome camera. I currently have a Hikvision 2mp mini dome and was looking for something similar. I was reading a post about a couple of Duhua domes but said they were not recommend outdoors but did not say why?

Are there any PTZ cameras that use an SD card?

Unfortunately I don't have an NVR and I would like a PTZ camera so I'm looking for one that takes an SD card. The only one I found is this, 4X Zoom Elite 2MP Vandal Dome IP Network PTZ Security Camera - IPPTZ-EL2L4X I don't know what brand this camera is, thoughts on this or others out there?

Recordings don't start until 5:00 am

When you say better software do you mean Blue Iris? I'm new to this so I'm not entirety sure if Blue Iris would give me the ability to fast forward faster than I currently can but if so I would be interested.

Recordings don't start until 5:00 am

I put an 8gb card in because that's all I had available at the time. I put in a 128gb card today so that issue should be resolved. The only other issues I have is I can't figure out if there's any way to fast forward through footage any faster than I can. The 4x speed seems barley faster than...

Recordings don't start until 5:00 am

I recently purchased a Hikvision mini dome camera as my first ip camera. Everything is good with it except when I go to check the playback recordings everyday they don't start until about 5:00 am despite the fact that I have it set on motion detection 24hrs. I know there's motion before 5:00...

Bought camera and can't get support because it's not from authorized dealer.

Okay, I'm stumped. I thought this camera came with a built in MIC. Am I missing something? I'm getting no audio at all. When I go to the audio settings the only option for audio input is " MIC in". Am I suppose to connect something like this...

Thanks, I think I may have figured it out. I changed the setting in the record schedule from continuous to event. Now I just need to find out how to get the mic and Hik-connect app to work.

Bought camera and can't get support because it's not from authorized dealer.

My main concern is I can't get the support that I need to get the camera to work. I enabled motion detection and walked past the camera several times and got nothing. I chose this camera for the fact that it had a mic. What camera would you suggest?
