Defusing IRs. Anyone played with this?

I have several IRs around the house. All of them have hot spots. Anyone played around with defusing your IRs? If you have, did it work and what materials did you use? I'm surprised we don't have a IR sub-forum.

Nest cam stop working in BI

I'm not Fenderman but I'll give you my 2cents worth. Go dahua. The cheap dahuas are the 4431c and 4433c both are poe and can be made wireless with a cheap wifi dongle. They are 110 degrees and work great in low light. Get a starlight if you want even better low light performance. You wont be...

New Setup - Home Use - Budget Build - POE

There is a lot of knowledge on this board. Don't rush this. Read and read more. Go with dahua cams and put them at 6 feet off the ground. Iding someone with cams at 6 feet is very easy. I use BI so can't help with the nvr. But go dahua you wont regret it.

    Outdoor POE Cameras & Grounding

Use plastic. My house/yard took a hit using metal conduit. It struck the ground 30 feet from the house and about 10 feet from the conduit. I was able to save my main cpu, fridge and some dvrs but that was it. Lost the TVs, cams, printer, microwave, modem, router and several lights. Everything...

Any good BI compatible cam at local BestBuy or such

From my experience not really. I bought several Dlinks from BB a couple of years ago. All have degraded quickly the last year. At this point none can be used in low light. The picture is very fussy no matter what i do to correct it. Same goes for my Foscams. Both brands now sit in a box as back...

    Recommendation for IPC-HDW4431C-A

The 2.8 will give you right at 100 degrees of coverage. The 3.6 gives you right at 70 degrees of coverage. BTW I have five 4431c cameras. They work great.

    Foscams dropping every 10 mins

Yes I would. Also turn off uPnP inside the cameras, no reason to tell the net they are there if you give them a static ip. As a side note: Foscams phone home every 20 seconds. Only way you can see them calling home is blocking all external ports or use wireshark to watch their traffic.

    Foscams dropping every 10 mins

Looks like you did it right. It may have lost signal during the upload. Reset it, start over. Assign the cameras a static ip.. Turn off DCHP in the cameras. Make sure and have them hardwired during updates.

    Foscams dropping every 10 mins

Don't update until you are sure you have the correct firmware. Hard reset the downed camera. Hopefully it will come back. Foscams are a pain in the ass to update. You have to go from one firmware to the next. Don't skip any, example: Firmware v1 to v2 to v3 etc. Start with your current...

No Signal: timeout, check IP address and port

    Dahua IPC-HFW5431E-Z5 Camera Problem

You need to set your exposure to auto. The cameras are staying in night mode. I don't have that model, but I assume the dahua UI is the same or close to mine.

I don't know. Look at the low light shots you posted. The 4433 has a slight edge on the 4431 and 4631. Are the 4433 and 4631 metal or plastic?

I don't know. Take a look at his simulated night shots. The 4433 is out performing the 4431 and 4631. I might change my order Andy and get three of the 4433 models. I need to keep reading.

Great post. Thx for sharing. I have several 4431C-A-v2 models and have been happy with them. Low budget with decent performance. I use several external IRs to help support low light. They work great with the added light. I have been thinking about upgrading some older cams. But not ready to...
