Dahua Starlight Fixed Lens Turret (IPC-HDW4231EM-AS)

Sounds about true in my experience but I usually look at the spec sheet as per: I base my calculations (estimations) on the spec sheet because different length lenses have different FOVs (Fields of View) depending on the size of the sensor. I am a slow learner and used to use my arms and a...

    Unable to recognize Dahua camera

Sometimes it is a good idea to draw a map of your network with pen and paper. You can then start writing in the network information that you are aware of. This will serve a number of purposes. Firstly it will give you a better idea of how your network is setup. Secondly, it is helpful to those...

If it works and looks right, the job is a good one. If you had the skills to evaluate the finer details of the job you wouldn't be employing a professional.

I don't know, that is why I would recommend getting at least 3 quotes. I don't know, it depends on what you find when you are on top of a ladder, working with power tools above your head. Sounds like you are still considering doing it yourself. I applaud that but it is incongruous to your self...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Surface Master Installation Instructions It is all there. The Builder's Edge is basically just a spacer and the Dahua's mounting screws (buy better or longer if needed) got straight through it and attach the sandwich to your house. I would get a number of quotes before paying $125 per install...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

It is a sandwich. siding, Builder's Edge, PFB203W. You have the cable coming the correct way out of the PFB203W. Up to you but are you really sure that you want to tackle this job? Second story, drilling holes into your house, working at heights with valuable equipment that you haven't been...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I am not checking the spec sheets for dimensions for you as the have the Dahau mount and your Home Depot Builders Edge (BE) in your hands. Is the Builder's Edge big enough for the Dahua to mount onto without overlap? If so you are in luck, if not get a bigger mount if available. If things fit...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

How would the user know? It is not as if there is decent documentation available (or is there?). This page about IVS on Dahua's site is the only hint I have found about IVS and Smart Codec compatibility. It is the * point below the table at the bottom of the page. Moving to Dahua came with an...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

If you really want to go WAY over the top with networking, the easiest and most reliable way is to use those SFP ports on The TP-Link gear. It is your money to with it as you wish but I use SFP connections for links that I need electrically isolated and they work great.

Alastair is correct. Try changing the XXX in 192.168.XXX.BlahBlah to the same number. Once you have done that, make sure the .BlahBlah part is different for each device.

In my experience, whispy bamboo like yours is going to be an absolute bitch when using IVS. It moves in the slightest breeze, either directly triggering events or it casts shadows that do exactly the same thing. If you are planning on expanding your system, I would consider replacing the 5321z...

Looking forward to seeing your walk tests. If you see or smell smoke coming from the camera, just change all the trip-wires for one intrusion zone and add a trip-wire at each end of near footpath.

Are junctions boxes really needed for a HDW 4431C ?

I wouldn't use one unless absolutely necessary. I am guessing that you don't have one in your hands yet? If my hunch is correct, could you tell us what you are proposing to mount it to and if you can drill hole directly through the surface and access from other side? EDIT: above questions...
