A couple thousand here, are you in Fl too? This is the main location I need to upgrade my camera system from analog to HD. System has been in for close to 10 years and some cameras are getting pretty bad.- Bret_FL

I have all CAT6 at my house but at work it's all coax and some rather long runs. I just don't have the man power or time to replace all the coax with cat6. A few of the runs would not be hard but some are. Iv'e been looking at the HCVR8208/16A-S3- Bret_FL

The only reason I would stick with the CVi is because the coax is already run and in some very hard to get to places so not really an option to replace it with all Cat5/6. I think anything I add I'd do ip because I have some network switches already in place that I could run off of to camera...- Bret_FL

I am all over the place in upgrading our Analog Dahua DVR at work. I currently only have 14 channels in use, however could easily add another 5-6. My thought at first was a Tribrid and keep the analog camera and upgrade to CVI as they go bad and add a few new IP cameras. Then I started looking...- Bret_FL

Can't get Smart Detect / IVS Analyse to draw any targets or rules
Was doing a search on this since I was tinkering with IVS last night and could not draw anything in the preview screen. I guess Dahua hasn't come up with a fix. -

So this camera wouldn't even work in my 16 channel NVR. Not sure of the Dahua equivalent to the model rebranded Dahua is a NVR-ELC-16-DH. -

Ordered the HFW4231s and should be here tomorrow, any suggestions on video setting tweaks? Will be adding it to my 16 channel Dahua NVR..I will be mounting it outside. Thanks -

Good to know, what model are you using? I'm thinking of maybe going with one of the ultra models. I think they do Both HD over coax and IP. The CVI camera are cheap enough I'll just ditch the analog cameras and replace them.- Bret_FL

Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)
Might not be all that bad as there is incline from the garage up to the road. The bullet would probably be a better option to get out past the floods. -

Can these be mounted vertically or horizontally? I would like to add one over my garage to cover my circle driveway but it's a peaked soffit so no level mounting point. I would like to put it just above the flood lights and below the soffit. The Bullet seems a little large for his area to me... -

I currently have an older analog DVR I bought from security camera king many years ago I would like to upgrade but at the same time not have to replace all my cameras at once. Yes, so I am not 100% sure if the POE was bad or a dead port. I need to get one of those POE testers and check the POE but don't feel like swapping back and forth to check it now, it's in a difficult location for trouble shooting. -

New POE came in but still nothing, ended up being a bad port on the switch I think. Once it came back online I didn't want to swap back to POE to verify. I may pick up one of those inecpensive POE testers to check it out. Both are something I am sure I can use in the future. -

Thanks for the input. I ordered another Poe+ injector from Amazon and should have it Tomorrow, it's been unplugged all day I may try it when I get home in the daylight. All of the wires are inside the sophet and not exposed so hope they are good. If the new Poe doesn't work then I'll start the... -

Had the 30X PTZ for nearly 2 years with out issue. but last night sitting at my desk I noticed it had gone offline. I went to the closet unplugged POE+ as well as the ethernet cables to it for a few minutes before reconnecting and plugging back in. Still nothing was not coming back online so...
