    Thanks, You guys were right, after fiddling with a few settings and deleting my old Q-see NVR/ Cameras from the SmartPSS device manager, I was able to see the camera I plugged in. Works pretty good. Along with the NVR I purchased, I also ordered a UPS battery backup for the NVR. Thanks again...

    Used a 12V adapter and a separate switch was unable to see my cameras using SmartPSS. At the same time, I found a new sealed Q-see QC858 which is the 8 channel version of my NVR on ebay. Made an offer and picked it up for $175.00, which is reasonable enough for me, so I will not be moving...

    Just so I'm clear, I would need a POE switch to plug these cameras in directly.. right? I don't haven't purchased a new NVR yet and my old Q-see NVR is dead... like... no lights, smells like sweet smoke dead. Thanks for the help.. I used SmartPSS with my Q-see system, so I'll borrow a POE...
