    ok will try it, @nayr do you think perhaps the firmware is corrupt? if I can power it up with brick, I can't connect camera directly to my laptop and try reloading firmware through boot loader? but I'm skeptical because how could this have happened to 7 cameras and 2 different models in those 7?

    if I have a 12volt brick that has a plug that fits but is rated at 1.25amps and the camera states it needs 12v. 0.5a. Will the camera only draw the amount of amps it needs?

    Good points. I'll see if I can find one. But my issue is that I need these to work over POE as I don't have power available in the places where the cameras reside.

    the camera seems to be definitely be in a reboot loop, I'm watching the green power light since I have it opened. Every time I see lost pings the green light flickers off and turns back on. I realize this can happen, but to 7 cameras at the same time across different models?

    I replaced the switch with a brand new one. Same behavior. I even factory reset one of the cameras and the ip came back up as the default 192.168.1.108. When I run a continuous ping on the camera is seems to lose connectivity every 30 seconds. I cannot get to the Web Admin page to configure it...

    @nayr can the IPC-HDBW4231F-AS be mounted on the ceiling or is that for the wall only? This is for my kids bedrooms, I like the mini-dome, but I need IR to see at night, so the wedge would have to do work.

    @nayr what do you recommend to power these starlights? Obviously PoE is the way to go, but do you have any recommendations on brands/models to consider? Is PoE switch better to go with then with PoE injectors? is there something that everyone on these forums uses? Thanks in advance!

    Thanks @fenderman inwas under similar thoughts that Blue Iris and similar software had more features but then again I'm still learning so I was surprised to hear that NVR was a viable option. In any case, I'm prob gonna go with Blue Iris given how many people use it and love it.

    So you are not big on the cubes then I'm assuming? Also, I have a 8TB NAS. Can I send the camera footage straight to my NAS and then use a BI server pointed to my NAS with the camera footage? Or do I still need an NVR?
