IR washed out after swapping lenses

Sorry, I wasn't specific enough. I was just disappointed with how the night shots looked in general, I'm not really concerned about reading plates at night and I know that is more difficult. I just lost the details in IR mode that were present with the stock lens.

IR washed out after swapping lenses

I think the foam is fine, it is a bullet camera and the 8mm sits about the same as the 6mm did. I'll double check though. I'll know tomorrow if I can get plates, they are something that I would like to get and the FOV is a compromise. The cameras are there to catch some neighborhood...

    DS-2cd2042 lens swap

I am just getting my system up and I've discovered that 6mm just can't get me the facial detail and ability to read license plates that I need. Has anyone successfully installed a 12, 16, or 25mm in this camera? Do I just need to get a new one and if so, recomendations for a fixed focal IR model?

Deciding on NVR or Blue Iris

Yes, another one of these posts. I did my research so hopefully it is a little better than the generic question. My street has some recent problems and I've set up two HiKvision bullet cameras (DS-2CD2042WD). I've already decided that with the price of storage, I may as well just record...
