    BI not recording several days?

    Hi, I have the record setting to continous. But on my HD I only see 2-3 days worth of videos. I thought it might be due to the HD being full but the HD (internal) is 50% full. I have 1TB internal and 4TB external. The external HD is not even close to being full. thanks, Frank

    Hi Tony, Thanks. You led me to solving my issue. What worked was choosing IPC-HFW5231 from the Network IP drop down menu in the PTZ/Controls tab. I usually just go with the default. Frank

    Hello Xmfan, Thanks for the reply. That link came from the wiki on this forum. That is why that switch is on my radar. Yes, it does have a fan. I am not sure what you mean by what are my PoE needs? I plan to connect 8 IP cams if that helps? Your link is def cheaper.

    Please see attached. Basically 3 cams are way out in the backyard. I dont' want all 3 cat 6 cables going to the house. I want one. So wondering if I connect them to a 4ch switch then connect that (only one cable running to the house) switch to an 8ch switch? If not what do I need to achieve...

    Are you saying that some folks don't have autofocus issues because they are not 100% zoomed? While others use 100% zoom so this is why they have autofocus issues?

    Hi, The 5231 looks like it is the newer model. However, I had read that it has autofocus issues and saw videos of it: I have seen a video of the 5200 and it seems like it doesn't have any autofocus issues: Anyone know if the 5200 does in fact NOT have autofocus issues?

    So I did double check and the connections are as everyone has suggested. I did more investigating. What I did is try to reproduce the problem by disconnecting the Almond. Well, the system was still recording and didn't get that "no signal" error. I connected the Almond back and disconnected...

    Hi, I have been using BI for about 3 months now. I took my PC and camera apart and put it in a new location. When I turned on my PC BI is asking for serial number. Aside from trying to type in the serial number, what do I do? Not sure where I put the serial number too.

    I use the almond to have internet access for the BI PC. This way, I get text/email notification. This BI PC is located outside and would be very impractical to have an Ethernet cable running outside to the house.

    BI PC connected to 4 port POE switch, camera connected to the same switch, and Almond (wifi router) connected to the same switch. Sorry if I didn't word properly.

    Hi Guys, Yes, it is originally connected the way many of you guys have said. Probably didn't make that clear. But to repeat again, PC, camera, Almond are all connected to a POE switch. I am not streaming or using the camera over wifi.
