    Hola folks New firmware for DS-2CD24x2&25x2 WiFi Cameras on the FTP site. Don't have one of these cameras, but having looked in the code I can't see any reason why this would have any issues with my Chinese to International region change program.

    Hi :) Only the factory region is changed from Chinese to International. As for the improvements - hopefully this means you can put on firmware that is International (rather than Chinese) containing security fixes, improvements etc from the manufacturer.

    There are a few ways into Hikvision devices with unlock codes, but as far as I know port 80 isn't one of them. If someone was really in need, I could always just provide them the unlock codes for the next 5 years for their camera.

    Well it's coded into the binary, so the binary would have to be hacked. The whole idea of each day having a different secure code is to prevent hacking from others. A static code that didn't change and would let anyone with network access in wouldn't be recommended.

    Somewhat unhelpfully, there are 2 5.1.6 firmwares. I don't know why Hikvision didn't choose a different version number. Make sure it's the one from the last few days as my initial impressions are that this works much better than the old 5.1.6.
