    That's interesting, might give it a go if I get bored or have an issue with my setup! On a side note,the response got from support was to run as a service (which I clearly stated was the issue) - or record to a local drive Not very helpful!

    Hi there, The problem being, when I run as a service it wont record to my sever... therefore no data Been looking for answers and cant find any help!. when this box is not ticked, it all works fine... Also, how can I get the UI starting on its own, does this need to be up for the app/web...

    Personally I would be looking at your data cables/terminations Another idea (however unlikely) - install BI (trial version?) on another PC to try it out Sounds like a network issue to me, could be a buggered card/on-board (do you have a spare card to try?) Tro

    Re: Motion detect - Shadows, Hot spots, A>B zones etc - much luck? yep I got that I am more interested in the un-configurable variables i.e., shadows .. sometimes they set off the trigger and sometimes they dont for instance, a tree branch blowing in the wind or a plane will set it off...

    I cant see the attachment, but a few ideas to try... and a few questions Are you running BI over the net/remotely? whats the data link like between your cams/server Can you view from your smartphone on the LAN, does that make a difference? Tro

    Brissy here! I have done more research and ended up getting a second hand i5 desktop off eBay for a little under $200 with my 36L as the file server, runs fairly smooth! The new HP servers would probably struggle somewhat and no benefit at additional cost! Tro
