    Can anyone point to the list of commands/API docs that I can use to interact with the cameras? Thinking about writing something similar in PowerShell and use Windows task scheduler. Might also just call out to this for the sunrise/sunset timings.

    OK, setting the bitrate down to 4096 seems to have fixed the issue. I'm able to raise it up to 8192 without the image breaking up.

    Yeah the drives should never sleep as the other 6 cameras (not including this one) are set to continuously record. Just set it to high performance anyway and set the discs to never sleep just in case.

    Having an issue with the video breaking up as shown in the below recording. The camera is a Dahua HFW8630E-Z, 15fps, 30 iFrame, about 10000 bit rate. Receiver Buffer in BI set to 20MB (max) Any ideas?

    Yeah so color mode is not so bad at night. I did enable WDR @ 50% to "see through" some of the shadows being cast by the LED's when are shining directly downwards. WDR looks awful during the day at that setting though.

    I just set it back to 1Gbit/s and did 20 pings. 1 packet lost out of 80. While I was doing this I was keeping an eye on Blue Iris and it kept dropping the signal. Looking in the camera properties in BI, the camera is going between 0 - 1.4 fps and a 150 - 250 kB/s bit rate.

    In this case I have the camera connected directly to the switch and tried with two separate cables. But you could be right - it sounds like packet loss or similar. In Blue Iris I occasionally see the orange warning symbol which indicates (to me) a network issue.

    The 2335 was a 6mm lens. I have the 5231 zoomed all the way so about 12mm. The Hik looked sharper but obviously had a wider field of view from the same location.

    Does that come with a lifetime supply of sunblock? I'm upgrading one of my 15w LEDs to a 30w. That will give me 60w in total our front. I don't want t for colour just to supplement the IR. I will have a couple of high overview cameras in colour 24/7 but they are not for facial recognition.
