Recommend a Atand Alone PIR Sensor

I plan to mount multiple LED floods st soffit height of a two story building and want all the floods to come on at the same time. Means I need to wire them all into the same PIR sensor. The plan is to get one but mount it about 10ft off the ground with the lights about another 10ft above that...

25 cams on i5 3.3Ghz 15GB RAM - system at absolute limit. How do I get more capacity out of it without replacing it with new?

Have you tried not accessing over RDP? I'm convinced this caused overhead in my previous setup. Try UI3 or a monitor connected directly to the BI machine. In fairness though, you probably should have a more powerful machine.

hmm...fishy. exploit.http.empireHTTPListener detected. Or maybe not fishy. UI3

There must have been an update to Bitdefender as I also got an alert today for UI3. No alerts previous to today.

    BI Bitrates VS Camera

I have 9 cameras in my system (2 x Dahua 2mp, 6 x Hik 3mp and 1 x Dahua 6mp). That will be expanding soon with another 3 Dahuas. In each of the camera's settings, I have the 15fps and the bitrate set to at least 8000 with CBR. In BI if I check the Status -> Cameras, they are all showing the...

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

If you want to save money, buy a single 2231T-ZS now and test mount it in each of your locations. Record what zoom you use in each of these positions. If you are happy with zooms between 2.8mm and 6mm, then buy the 2431's with those lenses. If you need more than 6mm, you'll need the 2231.

    Multiple hard disks

Interested in this. What is the advantage of splitting your cameras across two drives VS putting "New" on Drive1 and "Stored" on Drive2 (when "New" is full, move to "Stored" on the other drive). Obvious thought is that BI is not moving clips around but the other side of the coin, only 1 of...

    What should I pay for EliteDesk, 800-G3 , i5 7500 3.4GHz, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Win 10 Pro?

Personally I'd wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows. Can't be too careful..... Any hard drive or SSD I got with a computer went straight in the bin.

Some Blue Iris Alerts Not Playing

For anyone looking at this thread, here's what I did. Basically I uninstalled BI5 completely, removing all files and registry entries, formatted my WD Purples and set up from scratch. Overkill but I wanted a clean slate and to remove any possibility of an error during migration from a older BI4...

    BI Alerts

Or perhaps your storage is over allocated? I had an issue where my hard drive was showing a minus number in BI and I think that was causing some of my alerts to be stills.

Did I make a good choice on Blue Iris PC?

1 x 3.5" and 2 x 2.5" I believe so get the biggest WD Purple you can afford since you can only fit a single 3.5".

REVIEW: Budget 4MP Turret Comparison - IPC-T2431T-AS vs Chinese HDW4433C-A

I like the look of these for an over view cam, IE. have these mounted under the gutters in the two story house watching a wide area (just to see where some goes or what they do) with complimentary 5442/5231's lower down to catch faces.

Anyone Running Cat6 Cable & Mains in Parallel

Interesting, thank you. I already have the conduit in place and I've also been considering using some external CAT6 to run either behind or above the conduit to give that little bit of distance. I considered shielded CAT6 but probably little, if any, benefit.

Some Blue Iris Alerts Not Playing

Also it's not a case that all alerts from the cameras are frozen/stills. Just some of them. So I'd get some motion clips from a camera and then some still/frozen ones.

Nope. Smart Codec is off. H.264H encoding, VBR but changed that to CBR to see if it changes anything

Anyone Running Cat6 Cable & Mains in Parallel

My understand is that the code violation relates to possible interference and data loss. Not that voltage would jump from one cable to another.

Some Blue Iris Alerts Not Playing

I'm running BI5 on an i5-6500 machine and I have an issue where some alerts won't play. The alert thumbnail appears in the alert list and when I click on it, all I see on the main screen is the same still image. The alerts tell me that X seconds (10, 16 secs etc) but they won't play. In BI I...

Anyone Running Cat6 Cable & Mains in Parallel

I have some 20mm trunking along the front of my house that is powering 3 x 13w lights @ 230v (less than 0.2 amps I think) . I want to put an additional camera above one of these lights at the front door. If possible, it makes sense to run the Cat6 cable in the trunking beside the mains. From...

    Hardware Acceleration question(s) / issues

I got it from here and it seems to have made a difference. This machine I built a few weeks ago with the latest Windows 10 download. By make a difference I mean the PC detects the 4K monitor resolution and I see a 10% drop in BI CPU usage (35% CPU, 20% GPU). The newer drivers were utilising the...

What is wrong with my settings? Strange...

I think you are expecting too much. I have some 2MP Hikvision 6mm cameras and IMO, they will only get facial recognition within 4m-5m at best. My gate is around 8m-10m from the front of my house and I have a Dahua 8630 at full 16mm zoom and it's barely enough. My 5231-Z5 is about right at...

New Dahua N22AL12 Budget Cam w/Starlight

If the seller is Xinray on Aliexpress, I'd recommend them. I bought a bunch of Hikvision cameras from them in the past. N22AL12 looks good if you don't need to use the IR. I tend to stay away from domes altogether as IR reflection can be an issue. I buy turrets or bullets.
