@SyconsciousAu, that's really nice! I saw a a few cars like that, i.e. non-reflective license plate when I tested my IPC-HFW5231E-Z5. Currently waiting for my Z12 hoping to get a better angle. Is that only using the inbuilt IR from your two cameras, or do you have additional IR? -

Yes, when the motion lights turn on the picture will be overexposed until the camera has time to adjust the exposure. I used to have a motion light at my entrance, but with LEDs I prefer a dusk to dawn sensors (and the motion lights I had would always stop working properly after a few months)... -

Have you checked the video to see if there's any hints to what's triggering the re-focus? I have only done limited testing of my Z5 for LPR. Waiting for a Z12 to see if I can get a slightly better view. I just recently left the Z5 at my front door for testing, but so far I haven't had any issues... -

Looks like the camera focused on all the green in front in the first image. In the second image it's reversed, all the green growths in front are fuzzy. Besides the dimensions, the specs list the IPC-HDBW5231E-Z with three IRs and a higher max power consumption, so presumably it has stronger IR. -

That makes perfect sense. The RP-Z cameras I received were indeed PAL... until I flashed them to NTSC. -

With the VPN enabled, you should be able to connect to your NVR and cameras using their local IPs, i.e. 192.168.x.x or similar when you're at work. I'm not sure what you mean by "turn on nvr to router". You can connect it to your local network, but you should still not forward any ports, all...- cb8

Your street look very bright at night, or is it all from the IR lights? When I tested my Z5, I had more success getting sharp images if I lowered the gain further. You can always open up the iris accordingly to compensate. I kept the iris at about 80-90 and it gave me enough DOF that getting... -

My guess would be that the "Direct clients to redirect Internet Traffic" determines if traffic not destined for your LAN will be routed through your VPN or not. If the raw OpenVPN configuration it would add an entry like push "redirect-gateway" if you were to turn it on. Seeing your work...- cb8

Are OEM version dahua cameras really the same?
The ones I bought from Andy said RP-Z on the box too. My guess is the RP-Z is the unbranded version of the R-Z. Just be aware, for Aliexpress it's common for the sellers to list items as being in stock just to acquire them after you place your order which does add to the delivery time. Dunno... -

With a Dahua NVR, does it tell you which IVS rules were triggered? I have been played around with the HTTP API, and while you can differentiate between tripwire and intrusion, etc, if you have multiple tripwires, you can't tell which of them were triggered, i.e. you will get two start events... -
