    Hi just got IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 cams from Andy and they are looking great. But the license plates are blown out. Anyone have a good tut on tweaking this? What is lamp post setting?

    So far Dahua have been pretty reliable. But for a 2mp cam, around $130.

    Just wanted to start this poll because 100s of cheaper manufactures out there. I have bought from some and noticed instant fog on cams, horrible support etc. But some are actually pretty good cams less than half of Dahua/Hikvision with similar specs. Yeah sure maybe no IVS advanced functions...

    I install computers as my main gig. Done a couple camera installs. This client/friend is half commercial half personal. They are going up at his business. I dont want to cheap out too much. If Dahua is reliable then I will go with them.

    Besides Dahua and HikVision.... are there any close 3rd place runners up at 1/2 the price? SO MANY cheap companies... $30 Poe cams that all suck. Looking for quality and super cheap price as we all are. Dahua and Hikvision the only options?

    Thanks for the informative reply! Will check sub-forum for Dahua starlight series. Will also match the brands. Any specific vendor you recommend? ie on Alibaba, ebay etc. A vendor that has good support if one camera breaks etc.

    Do you know a setup that would allow 3+ cameras to record and send video out in realtime. Then if musicians want a uncut video of session, it can be easily saved to USB disk? That would be best setup.
