Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

That hardened steel piece can't be drilled out, he is right. How about using the smallest hole saw? It will be hard, since the pilot drill bit can't be used. This could be done on a drill press/milling machine only. Or maybe you can find on Ebay a broken camera.

Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

Just be careful, because when you drill, don't push to much on it. The screw tries to come upwards.

Trying to source replacement housing (IPC-HDW5231R-ZE)

Try drilling it out. I don't know the size of that grab(set) screw, maybe somebody knows and will let you know. Maybe you could measure it with something. You can drill it out with a drill bit for that size thread. For example, if it's M4 x 0.7, then you would use a 3.3mm drill bit. Then, you...

    Failing HW8232EP-Z

Try the biggest caps first. If you find one, just remove it. Most likely there are multiple connected in parallel.

    Failing HW8232EP-Z

I would do that and see, maybe there is some water inside. I have even repaired dead cameras. Usually, surface mount capacitors short out. I would start measuring them for short. It shows up on the network?

    Dahua SD1A404XB-GNR questions/setup

I didn't say to take the ball apart, just look at the tiny camera's lens surface, and try cleaning it. Or at least, if you see something on it...

Bricked SD50225U-HNI - replace with another or something newer?

The favorite camera that most of us are using is the SD49225XA(2MP) or XB(4MP). It works way better then what yo have. I had the same gen 59225 like yours, and that one can't compare to the 49225XA, or XB.

Bricked SD50225U-HNI - replace with another or something newer?

There is a thread here, about how to unbrick it. I had an issue like this myself, and it took some time and effort to unbrick it, but it brought it back to life. Also saved some money in the process. ;)

What changes needed, if changing cell service, or router?

I'm not thrilled about the price, either. I will be paying it for three years. First time doing that, but at least Samsung will give 4 OS updates for that, so I can keep it longer. My Note 8 does not get anything anymore.

I have switched from T-Mobile to Mint mobile, and that caused this issue. I have found a thread, that solved my issue. Basically, I needed to make another APN configuration that is meant for Mint, and now it works. Here is the thread with the settings: Thank you for your help.

What changes needed, if changing cell service, or router?

Lan address did not change. I have switched cellular carriers, that is all that has changed. port :811 is there at the end. "Use an HTTPS port (Stunnel/NGROK) has to be checked? If I check it with the open port site, this address shows that is closed. What is interesting, that I can't access my...

What changes needed, if changing cell service, or router?

Thank you for that. I thought that is what I have to do, but I hate doing it. Specially on the phone part. I was hoping, that there is an easier solution. I think the I will put a hold on this, until I'll get my S22 Ultra in.

What changes needed, if changing cell service, or router?

I have just switched cellular carriers and I can't see my cameras on my phone anymore. I'm using OpenVPN and UI3. What should I change? I have also noticed, that my WAN address has changed. I don't understand why, though. OpenVPN it seems like it is still connecting though. I should redo the...

    Sunshade/Sunshield for IPC-HFW4431R-Z?

What I was saying, if you cut a slit there, and put a hose clamp around the whole tube, it will close the gap and would tighten over the camera.

    Sunshade/Sunshield for IPC-HFW4431R-Z?

You could cut a slot along side the tube, and use a hose clamp to tighten it over the camera. That way, you get a tighter fit.
