Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

That’s where I’m lost. Usually, it comes in on my LAN IP or a Verizon IP address. I can’t imagine why I would be routed through a google IP address.

Odd IP address on connections log with BI app

I was going over the myriad of IP addresses that perpetually seem to want to connect (port sniffers, etc.) and a really odd IP address came up listing my phone logging in as admin. This is what shows when I log in via the BI iOS app. Hopefully putting this info up isn't a no-no. The IP address...

    Banned IP Addresses

Alright. It looks like I am going to get the Motorola MG8702. It has a good price point, and and has all of the VPN bells, and whistles. Even does IPSec.

    Banned IP Addresses

I have to get an expansion case in order to do that. Not hard to do, just hard to find.

    Banned IP Addresses

I am partial to the HP GT7720, as I have a few of them. Downside is, only 1 NIC.

    Banned IP Addresses

Well now this has turned into something else I would like to build. Or I could just buy a Netgate 1100, and be done with it.

Whew... Tough crowd in there. Now to figure out how to set this up on my server. Wish me luck.

    Banned IP Addresses

My router is as old as dirt. There is nothing about VPN on it. At some point I will have to get a new one. As for the money part, I built this thing all at one time brand new and got 4 Amcrest cameras, and BI. I was trying not to take another hit with a pay VPN. Now I'm looking into OpenVPN...

    Banned IP Addresses

I've been told that, or change my port to some off the wall number. The port change is the free option, but I tried it, and bungled something and ended up going back to port 81. I'm sure I missed a step somewhere.

    Banned IP Addresses

I have had a ton of sniffers around my BI system. I'm quite sure its because I am using Port 81 for the web server. I have a list of what I've banned so far, and was wondering if anyone else also had a list of banned IPs they wanted to share. Here's what I have so far: -198.98.52.213...

IP Cameras only good for after the fact? Not any more

I liked having my cameras viewable on the Roku IP Cam Viewer app. Now that I have the cameras on a separate subnet, I can't do that anymore.

Point cameras on subnet to NTP server

    Thanks... wow, that was easy.

Point cameras on subnet to NTP server

I have set up my BI server to also act as an NTP server. With my cameras on a subnet, they obviously can't reach any kind of time service. Is it as easy as telling my cameras to go to the IP address of the BI/NTP server where you would normally enter "time.nist.gov"? It can't be THAT easy.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Thanks to this thread, I didn't have to involve anyone in the nonsense of me putting my cameras on a separate subnet. Funny thing is, somehow I knew I was going to need a dual NIC setup when I built this BI server.

    New LED Street Lights!

I have one of those in my front yard :banghead: It's whatever. I don't pay for it. But yeah, it makes for some lousy camera lighting.

Good catch. Just changed that, also. Funny when I set all of that up using Amcrest IP Cam config, it didn't take, I guess. I no longer use that app anyway.

I’m recording straight to disk in BI with no encoding. This is also how it looked in the preview before I exported it as H.264.

    Disappearing Van

This is being recorded straight to disk with no encoding. This appears like this even during the "preview" (if you will).
