Current camera brand/model of choice (available in europe)?

Whoof, then I guess I was right not to jump on the Reolink band wagon after the firmware news. I did come across that topic when researching whether or not Reolink might now be worth the mustard. But I guess not. Most reviews seem to put 4k reolinks right at the balance point of price and...

Current camera brand/model of choice (available in europe)?

Yes he does, but there are customs and fees involved, plus customer support in case something is faulty/breaks would be a big issue. Thats why im trying to find a brand that's both reputable and doesn't have to come from the dark side of the moon. ;)

Current camera brand/model of choice (available in europe)?

It seems this vendor is located somewhere in HongKong, so import taxes will probably get ugly (usually 21% + fee). Empiretech is another one of those famous US brands that unfortunately doesn't seem to be available here. Importing them from outside the EU incurs a massive customs tax, Dahua...

Current camera brand/model of choice (available in europe)?

I've been racking my brain about what cameras to pick for a long while now, as most suggestions on the net are about brands I can't easily get where I live. So I'm hoping there is some lone European out there with a recent experience. People seem to be quite fond of brands like Amcrest and...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

Yeah our plates are huge, and we have to have them back AND front. Much to the dismay of people with expensive sportscars. You can have an overview camera be the director of a PTZ? Thats pretty neat! Seems a smidge overkill for my wee 3 car parking lot out front, but definitely cool tech...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

I saw your post and will be taking your HDD/SSD suggestion into my planning, Having it store locally and offload daily is probably better indeed. Thats one thing ive learned, so thanks. Also, you did mention you had an i7-4970 handling 15 cameras pushing 720MP/S with a CPU load of 20%, but im...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

"Go ahead and buy Reolink, Go ahead and buy Reolink, You know better, youll cry." Seriously? That's your best rebuttal when I dare say the Dahua camera you recommend looks pixelly and not worth 230 dollars? "Because I say so" is not a good incentive for me to go blow 230 bucks on something, so...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

I was looking at the videos in the link posted by Sebasiantombs, It doesn't appear to do much in regard to readability on plates? As to nightvision, I've seen better quality in wyze's recent update to their v3 starlight sensors, if im being perfectly honest. As for the lack of situational info...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

I'm not here to defend reolink, But I just don't understand why you are so impressed by that 2MP Dahua. I can't get a read on most of the license plates that go by, and nightvision is almost entirely washed out? That's apparently a 230 dollar camera, but at first glance it certainly doesn't seem...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

It seems opinions are divided on this Reolink stuff. There are a few people who seem to have no issue with it. And lets be honest, if some dude with a covered up face does something to your car, it wont matter if you have a shitty wyzecam or a 2000 dollar ubiquiti cam. If there's no...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

1080p cams won't cut it, I know this for a fact; A resolution that low will render license plates mostly unreadable. It's actually the reason why I'm looking to upgrade to higher resolution ones. I thought Reolink looked pretty good, and seems to be popular. But I guess if I want to use Blue...

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

So what im seeing is I have to lay out 200+ dollars per cam or it won't work with Blue Iris?

Intel i5 4590 + 8Gb RAM; will it be able to swing it?

Hello all, Ive been thinking about using an old Dell Optiplex 3020 SFF as an NVR, but im not sure its specs are good enough to swing my cam setup. The computer has an intel i5 4590 and 8gb of DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, with storage being handled by a NAS on a 1Gbit network. I plan on using 3 Reolink...
