I have success! Put the file on USB, and inserted it into the DVR. Using the DVR menu, applied FW to the camera, and it worked.
Before I was trying to install it through the DVR-Network (remote)
Current FW is 2020-12-03
Yes, I rebooted the camera, Factory defaulted it, and turned off recording (i got that warning a while ago)
I did delete that directory in both places
Still won't load
This is one of the refurbs from Andy
I have a new 5442TM-as. Cannot get the FW file to install. I am using IE, I did install this FW to 4 other 5224's several months ago with no problem. All I get is the progress bar, and it says downloading file. And it never changes. Thoughts?
OK, I understand now. To get more sleep I ended up installing an electric netting/fence around my grapes. I had the satisfaction of hearing the scream of the first raccoon to test the system. I also screamed the ONLY time I tested the system.
Looks like a safe background. Just shoot them? neighbors too close? I had a raccoon problem and had a very busy summer. The alarm system told me when they were in the yard. Got so I hated the buzzer sound at night.
I did not during the update, but I did disconnect all when I reset it.
I had also done the FW update on the 5442 cams at the same time. Cams first then the NVR.
They are in my signature line. I have yet to install my 5241e-z12e and another T5442TM-AS is coming today.

Just ordered 2 (an IR30 and an IR40) to illuminate dim areas in my yard. Just had a bobcat (?) kill a rabbit in the dark area of the yard. All I could see was the eyeballs just outside the camera IR.
Near Seattle we also had a guy find someone stealing a CC from his 4X4 truck. The owner shot him, tied him to the trailer ball, and drove away. Dumped him in a vacant lot
