It looks like you only have 2 pins connected on the serial connection when you need 3. There should be a ground pin, a TX (transmit) pin, and a RX (receive) pin. If you have an update.img file for the device then use that. Your commands.txt file should be run up tftp 0x82000000... -

Yes - that is exactly what it will do. Tested it too on mine. :) I have no idea why they configure it with the pins swapped but my guess is they have some sort of programming system that they use in the factory that needs it. -

I know on mine, last years model 5216-4KS2 you MUST use a null-modem serial cable. It is just a regular cable, no TTL adapter. My computer does have a real serial port as well which might help. I think once you change to signed firmware you cannot revert to old unsigned firmware (which also has a LOT of security bugs, backdoors, etc). New does too but at least most are fixed. I think you might be able to manually do it using a serial cable though.- TheDude
