    Lost my timeline!

Another think that I just noticed is that after some time the timeline will just pop back. This happens after maybe 10 minutes without me doing anything. It is not related to when BI moves to the next recording clip which are about 1 hour 20 minutes long.

    Lost my timeline!

I tried toggling it and no luck: no timeline. If I do "Restart camera" then the timeline comes back. If I cycle the cameras the timeline is lost again.

    Lost my timeline!

Thanks, I checked it and the "Show Timeline View" is checked for all 4 cameras.

    Lost my timeline!

I have been running BI for a month or so and it has been working great. I am running the latest release, 4.7.3.0 x64 on Win 10. Windows wanted to update today and reboot so I let it. When it came back BI worked OK and I could see my 4 cameras OK. But the blue timeline strip is gone for all...

IPC-HDW5231R-Z recommended BI camera configuration settings?

I had my IR setting to "manual" in the camera that way the IR button in BI would work. When I used the "inspect" feature the PTZ got set to ONVIF and the IR button no longer worked. The camera setting remained "manual" for IR. Setting the PTZ type to "Amcrest/Dahua" made the BI IR button...

IPC-HDW5231R-Z recommended BI camera configuration settings?

I set my ONVIF password to the samething as my main password and now inspect works properly. Thanks for the tip.

IPC-HDW5231R-Z recommended BI camera configuration settings?

Here is what I get from "inspect" from my IPC-HDW5231RP-ZE that just arrived from Andy yesterday. Opening 192.168.XXX.XXX port 80... HTTP Get / request... OK ONVIF GetSystemDateAndTime 2000-01-01T10:18:28.000Z Requesting device information... Bad response GetCapabilities... Querying services...

    Acronyms, Acronyms!

Being a n3wb I am often confused by some of the acronyms thrown around here. I have compiled a list of the acronyms that I have found and the definition for the ones that I could identify. I have left blank the ones that are a mystery to me. Perhaps people could help fill out this list and...

I am using BI 4.7.1.0, the latest.

IPC-HDW5231R-Z recommended BI camera configuration settings?

I have "Dahua" for the camera make and "Main Stream RTSP" for the camera model. I set the PTZ to "Amcrest/Dahua and optical zoom works using the PTZ controls. Digital zoom also works using the mouse wheel. I tried all of the other Dahua PTZ settings and the ONVIF setting, they all did not...

IPC-HDW5231R-Z recommended BI camera configuration settings?

Why not use "Dahua" for the make and "Main Stream RTSP" for the model? That works for me.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

That is the effect that I was getting, digital zoom with the mouse wheel. If the zoom buttons don't work then you don't have optical zoom as far as I understand. I also have a IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS that is set as "Armcrest/Dahua" that used to work with optical zoom but does not work now. However...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I have a IPC-HDW5231RP-ZE starlight cam and the only PTZ setting that works is Armcrest/Dahua. All of the Dahua_XXX settings for PTZ do not work. This is also true of my IPC-HDW5830RP-Z. I just received both cameras from Andy yesterday so I assume that they have the latest firmware.

Cleaning up street footage at night

I am wondering about mounting a camera under my mailbox. It would have a very good shot up the street. A dome might be too conspicuous and invite vandalism but some sort of pinhole camera might do the trick.

    Starlight cams and lux rating.

Isn't exposure just the inverse of frames per second? Isn't 1/3 second exposure just 3 FPS? Pete.

    Starlight cams and lux rating.

I notice that the N28BL7Z has a lux rating of 0.002 at 3 FPS and a 0.01 lux rating at 30 FPS. That makes sense to me, a longer light integrating time giving more sensitivity. Does this feature really work in the real world? What are really good cameras for a really dark scene without using IR...

    Starlight cams and lux rating.

I have looked at the various Dahua starlight cams and they range from 0.002 lux to 0.08 lux. Obviously a lower lux value is better. I got this chart from WikiPedia; Illuminance (lux) Surfaces illuminated by 0.0001 Moonless, overcast night sky (starlight)[3] 0.002 Moonless clear night sky with...

Is there a blizzard out there?

I fixed the youtube video. I am a new user there too!

Is there a blizzard out there?

Here is a clip of what I see: It looks like the dome is smudged but it appears perfectly clean when I look at it. Pete.

Is there a blizzard out there?

I tried manual IR. It acted as expected, turned it down and the scene and the snow got darker. Turned it up and they both got brighter. Making these changes did not really change the effect of the "snow" in the image. Pete.

Is there a blizzard out there?

I just installed my first camera, a IPC-HDBW4431R-ZS. It looks great in the day. At night when it switches to black and white and the IR LEDs come on it looks like there is a blizzard outside. Great masses of particles floating around as if blown by the wind. I went out to see if it was...

    Setting trigger parameters.

I missed that setting, thanks. I am new here. Is there a way to make real-time changes to the trigger settings as the playback is running? Pete.

    Setting trigger parameters.

I am trying to better understand the various settings for triggering. I adjust some setting but then have to wait until the particular conditions happen in the video stream to see if my settings are working as desired. This is a real hassle. A suggestion: it would be great if I could record a...

Got my Chinese PTZ camera to work!

I bought a real cheap Chinese PTZ camera and wanted it to work with iSpy. The camera has no manufacturer information on it. On the box it is called "HD IP Camera", Mode "JK-HD43F223HE" and Module "DM223HE". It has a web page that says: "Product Info: IPD-E14T08-BS series". This is what...
