I am starting to drive down the CPU to 47% by making the following changes but the video is now choppy vs smooth playback on 15 fps vs 25 fps. I am hoping you will stick with me as I learn how to tune BI correctly. I will have stupid Noob questions since the instructions "words" do not match the current version of BlueIris. (he changes menu options and labels during upgrades) I'm using BI Release 5.9.9.23 x64 (1/22/2025)- bbwolfe

That might be it! I actually disabled substream on the two newest high end cameras. I was working on improving the video during motion (trying to eliminate blur). Edit: Nope. Turns out during rebooting the cameras reenabled substream. I went into BlueIris Video setting but I am not sure...- bbwolfe

My old PC is starting to struggle with my upgraded cameras. The cpu now runs at 70% to 99%. It runs 24/7. I wonder if there are some BI tuning I can do? How can I go about getting a recommendation on a camera that might fit my desire? I want to be able to zoom into around 100ft. Get those clear images, hopefully day and night? (maybe asking too much here for night). I live in an area shaded by trees. -

The settings that produced the best results so far are: 0-2 shutter 0-50 gain 14 3D NR level 11 2D NR level 30 sharpness (everything else left default) I'm not sure what DNT is unless it's sharpness? -

Here is a side issue I am experiencing. Attached is the "snapshot" directly from BI. It does not upload from my PC properly. The way I get around that is to open the "snapshot" jpg image, do a screen shot and save as a second jpg image. The screen shot jpg is then able to be uploaded. The... -

Ok, this is an image set at 1/60 fixed and gain of 0-5. Yes, blurry. I will reset to early configuration that got me the best image so far. Then I will insert an SD into the camera to capture without going through BI. -

I think you are needing an image from an SD card, vs going through BI, correct? I will go and put an SD card in after correcting the "gain" issue I created with the last image. -

Do you have a recommended NVR? I've been using BI for years. My main reason is the ability to access the cameras and alerts on my phone. My goal of course is to capture the highest quality video images. I have Hikvision and Dahua cameras. -
