PC now struggling. 70 to 99% cpu

Thank you everyone for all these points. Sure does sounds like I need to upgrade for sure. Wow, thank you for this information! Do you have any recommendation on a decent PC I can purchase? (I see the specs, but wonder if I should just go to DELL or something?) Yes, it is that old of a PC...

PC now struggling. 70 to 99% cpu

I am starting to drive down the CPU to 47% by making the following changes but the video is now choppy vs smooth playback on 15 fps vs 25 fps. BI changes made so far: Record: Direct to Disk - Disabled RECORD>FILE FORMAT AND COMPRESSION - (Record dual-stream & Save blackout/mask) Video: Set...

PC now struggling. 70 to 99% cpu

I am hoping you will stick with me as I learn how to tune BI correctly. I will have stupid Noob questions since the instructions "words" do not match the current version of BlueIris. (he changes menu options and labels during upgrades) I'm using BI Release 5.9.9.23 x64 (1/22/2025)

PC now struggling. 70 to 99% cpu

That might be it! I actually disabled substream on the two newest high end cameras. I was working on improving the video during motion (trying to eliminate blur). Edit: Nope. Turns out during rebooting the cameras reenabled substream. I went into BlueIris Video setting but I am not sure...

PC now struggling. 70 to 99% cpu

My old PC is starting to struggle with my upgraded cameras. The cpu now runs at 70% to 99%. It runs 24/7. I wonder if there are some BI tuning I can do? OR Is it time to upgrade the PC or move to an NVR? --------------------------------------------- BI: 3 external SSD disks attached via USB...

    Frustrate: Blur....

How can I go about getting a recommendation on a camera that might fit my desire? I want to be able to zoom into around 100ft. Get those clear images, hopefully day and night? (maybe asking too much here for night). I live in an area shaded by trees.

Ok, I think I have AI IVS enabled and setting rules saved. I turned off MD/SMD.

    Frustrate: Blur....

Perfect. Thank you for this. Yes, we are heavily wooded here. I would have purchased a different chip if I had known. (lesson learned). Unfortunately I have a Hikvision with the same chip specs on the way.... (Hikvision iDS-2CD7A86G0-IZHS 8MP Outdoor Network Bullet Camera with Night Vision...

    Frustrate: Blur....

A couple additional questions. Do you have a recommendation for night settings? (I now realize that this chip requires a lot more light so the night images will be poor). Also, since I now have added an SD card and can access video/images on the camera directly (thank you!), I see a setting on...

    Frustrate: Blur....

I did not mean to ignore your recommended test. I simply got too busy following tuning settings and figuring out how to get an SD card / access to the images yesterday. Attached is the image I just took with your setting recommendation. Note: It is 2:15pm on a completely sunny day. Yes, that...

    Frustrate: Blur....

The settings that produced the best results so far are: 0-2 shutter 0-50 gain 14 3D NR level 11 2D NR level 30 sharpness (everything else left default) I'm not sure what DNT is unless it's sharpness?

    Frustrate: Blur....

Will do! Huge thanks to you and everyone on this forum. I learned so much and didn't have to throw the camera off a cliff. (insert humor). I was so frustrated but persistent.

Can you confirm that I've probably got this tuned as far as this camera will allow?

Here is a side by side comparison of the BlueIris video capture and the SD card image from the camera:

FINALLY.... Here is an image captured directly on the SD card of the camera. edit: file was too large to upload. (24mb BMP File)

    Frustrate: Blur....

Question about getting to files on the SD card. I have been spending my time getting the SD card installed, formatted, enabled and all setting inside the camera enabled for motion capture, etc. The SD card has been storing files (currently 1.16GB used space) But when I remove the SD card, I do...

    Frustrate: Blur....

Here is a side issue I am experiencing. Attached is the "snapshot" directly from BI. It does not upload from my PC properly. The way I get around that is to open the "snapshot" jpg image, do a screen shot and save as a second jpg image. The screen shot jpg is then able to be uploaded. The...

    Frustrate: Blur....

Ok, this is an image set at 1/60 fixed and gain of 0-5. Yes, blurry. I will reset to early configuration that got me the best image so far. Then I will insert an SD into the camera to capture without going through BI.
  24. B

    Frustrate: Blur....

I think you are needing an image from an SD card, vs going through BI, correct? I will go and put an SD card in after correcting the "gain" issue I created with the last image.
  25. B

    Frustrate: Blur....

I screwed up and see that the gain defaulted to 0-50. I will try again at 0-5.

    Frustrate: Blur....

Do you have a recommended NVR? I've been using BI for years. My main reason is the ability to access the cameras and alerts on my phone. My goal of course is to capture the highest quality video images. I have Hikvision and Dahua cameras.
