After running this for a bit, it doesn't seem like my make times are going down appreciably. Before enabling the new lpr integration, ipcam-combined and license-plate took ~80msec, with little variation. With the new lpr integration running, I still see an occasional 80msec make, but the average...

Disabling P2P on Dahua cameras only temporary. Reactivates and my pihole shows over 1 million attempts to access: devaccess.easy4ipcloud.com in a day

If you follow best practice mentioned a few times above (block or drop outbound connections), things like DMSS likely will not work, or at least not without complicated networking workarounds. Since you use a VPN to connect remotely, there's no reason to allow outside connections from the dvr or...

Disabling P2P on Dahua cameras only temporary. Reactivates and my pihole shows over 1 million attempts to access: devaccess.easy4ipcloud.com in a day

I have to thank you all for posting about this. I have cameras and iot confined to a range of ip's, and that range has a script that sets up iptable drop for any outside requests (no chance to phone home). Normally logs stay mostly quiet and network stays happy this way. After reading this, I...

Thanks for the super quick response. [edit... your second reply is very insightful, thanks again!] Also just wanted to pass along a minor bug I found... BI alerts appear to be multiplying confidence by 100. For example it shows 9100.0% on an AI alert, where ai details show 91.0%. Guessing the...

One more quick question... is installing the OCR module itself required for lpr to work? I have run lpr with ocr installed the whole time, and it works fine even with the ocr stopped. I am hesitant to test uninstalling ocr without asking first. I know... I'm trying to fix what ain't broke.

That is great to hear Mike! I appreciate your hard work on these things. The current performance is promising and adequate, with room for improvement. I'm more than happy to have some typos for now, with the huge benefit of zero net access requirement for my cam system (online alpr was the sole...

    Blue Iris and DeepStack ALPR

I already had cpai 2.0.6 and the lpr module installed and working before updating BI to the latest with the lpr integration. It didn't go perfectly smoothly for me. After enabling the "ALPR for plates" (the new integration), AI wasn't working and BI got funky on my (triggered cameras froze...

You may be able to achieve similar with CPAI by increasing the number of "+ real-time images" in camera AI settings, and/or decreasing "analyze one each". The post trigger real-time images controls how many images BI will send to AI for recognition, and analyze one each controls the time between...

    Blue Iris and DeepStack ALPR

Yes I understand; I plan on sticking with the existing online ALPR integration for now, and look forward to the BI integration whenever it is ready. I was just curious and wanted to do some testing to see how well it performs, and give feedback on any problems that may show up. Test image 10 has...

I installed 2.0.6, but not sure if something went wrong. I don't have any license plate reader in my dashboard. I read something in the release notes about the ability to add modules from the dashboard at runtime, but not seeing how that is done. Is there something I'm missing?

xiongmaitech new version AI camera defect

I agree they are all made in the same country, but they are not all the same. It is hard if not impossible to determine which products are good and which vendors are accountable without referring to reliable testing/experience though. That is why I wrote the last part…

"Stream Smooth" setting on Dahua cameras?

Does anyone know what this "Stream Smooth" setting does? I tried googling for it, and I get mostly info regarding substreams. It appears configured with a default value of 10. AFAIK it's a newer feature, or at least I don't remember seeing it until I recently upgraded firmware on all my...

xiongmaitech new version AI camera defect

No I do not have that kind of problem now, but I have in the past. My solution is usually the garbage can, and not buying scammy stuff like one off fly by night brands from over seas, especially if they aren't verified by a community that I can trust.

    Beginners guide to CodeProject

When you added the p1000, did you follow the info to install the correct driver, cuda toolkit, and cuDNN?: https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/5322557/CodeProject-AI-Server-AI-the-easy-way#CUDA-support In case you didn't find the correct driver, here is the link to the one that works for me...

    Beginners guide to CodeProject

It has been a while since I've put much time into such a project, and I figure something like this is within my reach. This month my schedule is packed with 2 of my kids having out of town sport events every weekend, and thanks to the storms arriving at the same time as long awaited building...

    Beginners guide to CodeProject

Having setup CPAI twice recently, once with CPU and once with CUDA, I have to say that guide page is not much of a beginners guide. There's lots of info on compiling and working on internals, which is hardly newb material. The closest thing might be the link to that wyze cam walkthrough, but...

GPU's that fit Optiplex 3070 sff?

FWIW, I completed the build and got cpai cuda gpu working. Make times are now ~80msec average using all the same settings otherwise. So not the 20msec I was hoping for, but still a big improvement. I will play with substream for ai, as well as the medium and smaller models, and see how...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

Running a vpn on a router doesn't have anything to do with other perhaps more important security items, like open ports. Like even if your vpn server and client use a secured connection, you could still be hacked hacked if there is an open port on the router. I presume if you didn't mess with...

    VPN Primer for Noobs

In BI settings/Web server/Advanced..., I think you may need to uncheck "Use secure session keys and login page". As long as your VPN is setup properly, your LAN is otherwise secured, and you aren't port forwarding, it is OK to run this way.

GPU's that fit Optiplex 3070 sff?

I have used both substream and mainstream for ai, and found only a slight diff using substream. Makes with mainstream average 280-320msec, and 220-260msec with substream.

GPU's that fit Optiplex 3070 sff?

My make times are like 200-250msec avg which is fine most times. When I have several triggers coming all at once sometimes cpu gets pegged. My thought was taking the ai processing load off of the cpu and cutting make times down from 250msec to 25msec would reduce how often that happens.

GPU's that fit Optiplex 3070 sff?

Thanks for the quick reply. I was afraid that would be the case, and dell's proprietary garbage psu's are always a problem. My current PC is gen3 and I wanted h265 ha, as well as os support beyond '25 (win11). I am glad I asked about the 1050 before buying one. I swear I read across something...

DeepStack How to alert on Delivery carriers

Sorry almost missed this one from the previous page. That is pretty weird. I noticed CPAI sometimes can take a few minutes to settle down when certain changes are made. Have you given it some time? Have you tried stopping/restarting AI to see if it changes anything? Maybe after restarting they...

DeepStack How to alert on Delivery carriers

Weird, those yellow stopwatch icons indicate that AI is tagging those objects as static, or occupied. The way this is supposed to work is AI compares the current trigger image from the preceding trigger image, and if it sees the same objects it calls them "static". If every object in the frame...

GPU's that fit Optiplex 3070 sff?

I may have jumped the gun on purchasing an sff box. Now I'm looking at gpu's to use for AI, and it seems like the 1050's are a good value, however looking at the shop manual for my yet to arrive optiplex 3070 sff, it appears the 16x slot only fits 1-slot GPU's! Anyone use put a gpu in their sff...

DeepStack How to alert on Delivery carriers

Not 100% sure, but I think AI test/tune gets greyed out if you are viewing a live feed of a cloned non-recording camera. That last image is way too green, hehe. Use the 3-dot menus to turn off/disable everything except "Object detection yolo". Only yolo objects should be green. The scene, face...

5.6.7.3, which I believe is the latest release. CPAI is 1.6.8, which is also I think the latest release. This must have been it. I played more and observed memory go from 25% right after a reboot, to 38% after all of the models have been used. After the models were used a few times, confirm...
