Plan for more than 2 cameras... package thieves

kroq83, I think the sound of an AWP reloading or a silencer being put on an M16 from Counter Strike will certainly make folks look directly where the noise is coming from.

Hello blacksail, I don't know if this will be of any interest or help. Dahua IPC-HDW4231EM-ASE, 2MP Starlight CMOS with built in microphone and upto x265 encoding. May we ask what NVR you're using? As that's very important.

    NVR Questions

Hello Elgato54, I think that lower resolution cameras with bigger pixel sizes will beat the hell out of newer 4K cameras in low light conditions and will also help keep costs down and allow you to spend more money on the more important components (don't forget cabling!). Also 4K will create a...

DeadEnd, hopefully you'll find out how to resolve your issue. But I certainly agree with you that B&W imagery should create less data.

"4K" cameras captures package thieves in board daylight. Can you easily ID the perps?

No WDR, bad configuration of settings and totally useless placement of camera by front door (also others aren't too clever either). That's what I see mat200. It's not the end of the world per se, it can be fixed but it would take some time and thought to sort things out.

Please help! I have no idea what I’m doing!

EricaU, Lorex rebrand Dahua products. So to save some money and get something more useful go for Dahua. And as others can and will say, higher resolution doesn't necessarily make for a better camera. Astrophotography buffs know this, it's pixel size that is paramount for low light performance.

    Camera aesthetics

Hello Rickoo, the Dahua Eyeball style cameras and the likes are noticeable but more elegant. And if you put them against a white background it makes them stand out less.

I've been looking for various resources bigredfish, got the .PDF manuals and most things. But some things are a dark art at the moment to me and are barely covered in technical documents, when it would be nice if they even had a small paragraph on them instead of a single sentence. But I'll...

    Dahua NVR5216-4KS2 / NVR5216-16P-4KS2

Bigredfish, I did finally get options showing up for the cams with IE in Win 10. Just had to change the security settings to custom minimum, so not safe for web browsing. But I thinking that you can go less than 1/60 in daylight. But are the day and night settings auto switching and...

Hi folks, just got a decent Dahua IP CCTV system and am in need of help as I'm a little stumped.

Like one thing that I have noticed is that the NVR seems to have a limit of 168 Mbps mentioned with 1 camera installed, and at 1080p 25 fps and sound at default I'm almost using this all. Is this value per channel?

Who has Dahua NVR54xx series? Thinking about upgrading

A possible solution to reducing heat and also noise may be to use another PWM fan, as I believe that the plug on the motherboard is the same type used in PC's. So may well be worth an experiment with an old PC fan laying around. Noctua would be a wonderful choice if the plug is the same...
