    Dahua firmware

I thought that the firmware issue was something that only affects China region hardware, due to the English firmware for them being a hacked version. At least that's what I think.

Motion Detection Area Boxes (Incorrectly Calibrated)

Hello Iceman24, may I ask if you're using Windows 10? I had to disable all security settings in IE with Windows 10, just so that I could connect to my cameras through the NVR. It may also even be an issue with other security software installed as well, as it could also be blocking things from...

    Dahua firmware

mharalambous, what suffix does your camera have? As there's a /VFS and a -S2 versions available, and firmware is specific to a model or device. And if you fash the wrong firmware you'll end up software bricking it.

Hikvision is camera not communicating with nvr

You'll need to directly connect to the each camera affected individually. So you'll need two known working ethernet cables. One cable running from the ethernet port on your laptop into the POE injector (input), and then a cable out from the POE injector (output) and into the connector on the...

Hikvision is camera not communicating with nvr

Byousefz, you could try to directly connect to the affected cameras with a known good cable, a POE injector or POE switch and laptop. As could be a cable issue and if you can hard reset them, it's worth a try. Good luck and hope that you get it sorted.

    Camera Subnet

The POE ethernet ports and the ethernet port are on seperate controllers nothappy. I believe it is possible to ping the cameras, as with some manufacturers NVR's it is possible to access and configure the attached cameras through the NVR. But I'm still learning a lot about IP CCTV systems from...

Not as sensitive as I hoped

ANTH040, when you get a chance have a look at CU CCTV. There a genuine UK supplier, and all their hardware is sourced from Oprema. And 2.8mm will be very wide angle and have a short distance focus, 3.6mm is another good choice as well. But like most things, you have to experiment to find out...

Is Dahua the best bang for the buck?

From what I've been brushing up on bigredfish, is that full frame (equivalent to 35mm film) or larger sensors are the ones we'd really like to play with. But the size of the cameras and optics would be very large and they'd also be very heavy. And I always like to know what components are used...

    Camera positioning help needed

I've downloaded your pics Bob Schulz, just going to have to mull ideas over a bit. As it's better to do the working out first, rather than diving Into things and creating more issues unnecessarily. How many cams do you have or have access to as well and are they bullet or eyeball/dome? Just...

Is Dahua the best bang for the buck?

Bigredfish I'm used to the metric system. But I have noticed something very interesting, attached .PDF has some cameras selected from Dahua's website and all say that they're 4MP Starvis CMOS cameras. But when you go to the product pages they are not listed at all as having Starvis CMOS...

DS-2CD2425FWD-IW - noise (screeching) when using camera speaker

What I'm thinking is that the microphone and speaker are interacting, causing a feedback loop. As when you're not using the speaker on the cam Neverwhere, you don't get the issue. It may well be worth finding a good audio forum, as I only have a 101 understanding.

Is Dahua the best bang for the buck?

A large sensor with a larger pixel size and a lower pixel density is paramount in capturing photons tigerwillow1, as bigger pixels are better for low light performance due to their ability to capture photons. As a bigger target is much easier to hit than a smaller one. That's what any...

+1 on the wiring diagram or plan mat200, it's always useful to really think these things out instead of just throwing things in wherever they'll fit and then create a load of issues and much longer wiring runs than necessary. And an IP Camera doorbell may be a good addition to the system as well.

Nicely planned conduiting will give a slight air of commercial or industrial, but it will look purposeful and somewhat elegant. And some manufacturers make surface mount boxes that will work with metal conduit tube and you can mount cams on as well, such as Dahua with the DH-PFA130-E. And I...
