Cabinet Installed for large home install, Plus prewire pics

When you cut out the back of the cabinet, how did you cover your edges? Looks like tape. Have you seen this stuff? Grommet Material, 30 ft. | Middle Atlantic I use it on everything from cabinets to transformers. Anytime you cut an odd size hole, this stuff is awesome. Cut to length and it...

Cabinet Installed for large home install, Plus prewire pics

Looks good overall. We typically pipe everything in wall for added protection, easy additions, and fire rating. No matter how much you pull, there never seems to be a cable where they want to add something! We don’t use core line or smurf tube or w/e Americans call it. There are some really...

Cabinet Installed for large home install, Plus prewire pics

No strain relief on those bundles? No jhooks above either? Should have stubbed down that wall with pipe to a proper junction box, rather than just a hole in the drywall. At least then you can add a cable easily in the future. Spray foam on the top plate etc. We always run a spare, empty pipe for...

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

I returned the first one I bought because there was something protruding from the black plastic around the dome. It was enough to heave the plastic and lift the adhesive and I was worried about the IP rating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

It isn’t distortion. It’s actual blurriness but only in the four corners, more so in the top left. I have had a few other 2.8mm lenses, they aren’t great to begin with. Fisheye and lack of clarity aside, this is actual blurred image. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

I am noticing that the outside edge of the image is a little blurry when at the widest angle shot. Anyone else seeing this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Smart Codec.

The school analogy is a perfect example of a situation that can be served by both CBR and VBR. The problem with VBR is that most camera processors are slow to “ramp up” to meet rapid changes in the image, which are quite visible as pixelization. They eventually smooth out, but crucial...

Does the Hunt NVR support Hik protocol? If you are using Onvif, you have to go into the Hik cameras and turn on Onvif and create a username and password. (Network, Advanced Settings) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HIkvision works on SADP and not able to open any browser (‏Pictures)

Why is your Http port not set to 80? I haven’t seen that minimum boot up mode before. Is that a network only access mode? Or can you still Tftp and dump a firmware in? I learned something today! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Paint it Black?

Method 3 is just masking off the camera, clean and abrade the surface, then do a light tremclad primer, then 3-5 very light coats of tremclad or similar high bond paint. Looks great and won’t chip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Paint it Black?

We paint cameras to match clients exteriors or architects specs. There are 3 ways that work well. 1. Spend the money and have them powder coated. It ain’t cheap, but they look amazing and last forever. 2. Paint with proper bonding paint. Clean and abrade the surfaces beforehand. (Steps 1 and...

Access logging for people and vehicles...

Keep in mind, you can set an event strictly for logging purposes. With most VMS software, you can program macros or rules based on alarm triggers. Some clients like snapshots of access events. We typically set up different after-hours rules. For example, I like to set schedules based on whether...

Access logging for people and vehicles...

They type of advanced analytics you require aren’t going to be cheap. Have you thought about tying the access control to the camera? A simple method involves using the relay output of the access control board to trigger the alarm contact on the camera. This would provide and event log for all...

    Milestone camera settings not updating
