    I'm about ready to order an Intel NUC. I figure its got more power than the hardware NVRs, and will be upgradable down the line if I decide I want to use other software. No doubt it costs more, but can't see paying $400+ for a dedicated NVR pc.

    What's your favorite IP camera and why?

    Right now I have a 4mm and a 6mm. There was not a striking difference between the two, but obviously the 6mm has narrower FOV. I'm still working on my wiring right now, but once I have that finished it will be easier for me to get some images.

    I have two Hikvision DS-2CD2332-I I'm testing out right now. I plan on doing my full house exterior with this model, around 6 or 7 cams.

    XProtect Resets Hikvision Email Alarm

    I got a weird bug with XProtect. Has anyone seen this? Whenever the XProtect server is restarted, the email alarm event gets unchecked in the Hikvision camera admin interface. This disables any email motion alerts that were running on the camera. I'm running 5.1 firmware and the XProtect Go 2.5b.
