My Huisun 10x PTZ cam has been defocusing at night so I didn't get a clear shot. I looked thru before & after the fact cam videos to see if this guy happen to do a...

    Boat Prowler on camera

Cameras caught a boat prowler checking neighbors and my boat. Trying to figure out if he was interested in the motor or maybe fishing gear or ski equipment. He didn't pull anything except the bungy cords that hold the tarp down. He better hope I don't see him again. His vehicle had license...

Huisun PTZ 10x - Enabling Focus Control in BI

My Huisin 10x cam can zoom & pan in BI, but the focus doesn't seem to be functioning in BI. The focus will work when accessing through a browser, but it also will sometimes re-focus after i adjust it and become blurry. Is there a manual setting for the focus control. For example, set it to the...

Just had 2 Hik DS-2CD2032 cameras go no-signal

Well, I finally dug into the problem of these 2 cameras going offline mysteriously. I checked the reset button and this did nothing to fix the problem. Then I decided to check using the Hikvision tool box as suggested above and this is where the problem was. 2 cameras went default settings and...

Just had 2 Hik DS-2CD2032 cameras go no-signal

Not more then 2 days apart I had two of these cameras just take a dive and go no signal for no reason I can see happened. The first one was a camera I changed lens on , but worked perfectly until recently. Then the next one just went no-signal like the first one. I pulled the first one down and...

    2017 Solar Eclipse

This was taken in Spokane, WA. which was wasn't a great show at 92% coverage. I definitely thought it would be darker. This was a frame taken from a video camera with about 8 sheets of UV protection 30% Auto Window Tint over lens.

Home Invasion Robbery - Riverside Police Dept Report 8/29/2017

So, wouldn't be ok to shoot people like this if a gun was in you're hand? I would imagine it would be OK as long as the bullet doesn't enter their back. Pretty lame ting to rob like this. Time to start controlling the home invasion criminal population.

Had to of been there. These kids were not about to make a move. They also were warned if they did try to leave, I would put one in them.

2 Thieves Caught in Act & at Gunpoint.

The big officer came into our home and informed me I did exactly the right thing in this situation. He said the kids were very scared and not having chambered the gun kept a possible shooting where I would of been taken in from happening. He commended me for staying calm and keeping my head on...

2 Thieves Caught in Act & at Gunpoint.

Gun was unchambered, wouldn't matter where it was waving. The laser was all I needed in this situation and some firm commands to take control of the problem. Gun had to be pointed for laser to put fear in them. If they were older, things could of been different and I would of taken cover and...

2 Thieves Caught in Act & at Gunpoint.

I didn't go back into house, My wife was standing outside at the front door with it open so she could go back into the house if needed and called 911 and then I went up and got the phone from her. Also, being there I again had total control of these 2 boys and sensed they were much much to...

2 Thieves Caught in Act & at Gunpoint.

I am a cam watcher, Sleep from about 4am to 12pm. I don't work so it makes the cam watching interesting. Lately we have had problems on the street and it forces me to watch for the walk through thieves.

2 Thieves Caught in Act & at Gunpoint.

Video is 18 minutes cut down from about an hour. If you have popcorn, it might be fun to watch. I am just stoked I got them listen, but who argues with an un-chambered pistol pointed at you. lol Got a hit on security cameras at around 3:30am today. Went to viewer and spot 2 young adults headed...

    Bullet Mic Review

Have you setup the your mic system for an external outside speaker as well? I am thinking of installing an external speaker, but I am wondering if the audio out (yellow) plug is just for listening to the connected mic on the camera. My camera and mic right now are set up on BI, but I don't have...

    Bullet Mic Review

From what I understand about getting power to the mic and making it all happy. The image below shows Nayr's way on the left, in his posted example images. Would the same work if the power is brought in with a transformer adapter and connected like the image on the right, being plugged into 120v...

Will there be a BI update for IPC-HFW5231E-Z5

I was curious to know if BI will be adding the Dahua Z5 to their setting line up in the program. I have Blue Iris running all my cameras, but it is in Generic mode on the Z5 after doing a Find/Connect. I also am not sure if this is related to this generic mode, but I tried to run a motion...

    BlueIris setup for (IPC-HDBW4431R-AS)

FPS can have an effect and the bit rate. I think most these guys run 10-15 fps, bit rate is kind of a personal setting probably. Also IFrame should match the fps. This is what I been taught in here.

    How-To: Audio Inputs

Soon as I think I have everything figured out, I decide that I want to have sound added to my camera setup, sheesh. Constant learning at my age hurts the cells that are still available. I am confused with all the splitter action needing to be used for sound. For example with this microphone...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Bullet Z5 7-35mm (IPC-HFW5231E-Z5)

Well, got the new Dahua IPC-HFW5231E-Z5 camera all IP configured and flashed to the latest firmware and it still works. Just running it through its zoom and it sure doesn't seem like 7-35mm in the house, maybe it will be better outside when I mount it. I am going to need to buy an expanded...
