How to view Dahua cameras with SmartPhone

Tiny Cam Monitor found my Lorex (Dahua) NVR, and allowed me to connect, and is showing channel 1, but it won't show any other channels. And it only found the NVR, it hasn't found any cameras during the network scan. I've tried adding them manually and it hasn't worked either. Any suggestions?

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

When zooming, have you ever seen it go all the way to the right, regardless of the placement of the cursor? That has happened to me several times. It'll just zoom to the right and on an angle too. I'm not experiencing the gaps anymore. I told it to reset everything to default (which it didn't...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I just wanted to update this.. So, I've reset the NVR back to default more than once, but it didn't change everything back to default, which was weird. For example, the motion detection was still off, even though it was on by default. There haven't been any gaps even though I turned the motion...

Easiest Way to Secure Camera System

In regards to streaming securely, is there anything wrong with using an app provided by the manufacturer, in my case, Lorex / FLIR Secure, or is it best to go with another app such as Tiny Cam Monitor? I'll be using it on the home network and when away using OpenVPN. The NVR isn't connected to...

Question about locally remote NVR functionality

I was able to figure it out. When plugged the NVR in a router it gave me the IP address and I was able to type that in a web browser. It then asked me to get a Chrome app (which doesn't make sense to me). So, I got that app, and it almost looked like another web browser that came up, I typed in...

I'll probably stop working with this for now since I'm not getting anywhere. The gDMSS Lite app isn't connecting either. I've also reset the NVR back to default. That didn't help. My current setup is Asus Router > NVR. That's it. It's not connected to the Internet. I've logged in the Asus...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I still can't get anything to connect, but did find out the password to the cameras should be "admin", according to a Google search for Dahua.. According to Lorex it should be 000000, which appears to be incorrect since the password is five digits and not six. IP Cameras: Default username and...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I just thought that maybe the FLIR Cloud app would do something, but it wouldn't even let me in. I just downloaded gDMSS Lite, so I'll give that a try. It wouldn't allow me to access the camera directly, and when I brought up the cameras through the NVR the password was five characters (the...

Thank you! I'll go ahead and turn on the protection just in case it is helpful. I'm planning on using the Asus DDNS as of now.

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

This setup is a mess. It's definitely not anywhere near as user friendly as the cloud based systems (Nest, Arlo, etc). It's connected to a network now, which isn't connected to the Internet. I've been trying to get it to work on Tiny Cam Monitor, and it's not. I've tried to add the NVR...

uPnP is on by default, so I'm supposed to turn that off from what I've read.. I'll go ahead and do that unless I'm told different now for some reason. DoS protection is off by default.. Any suggestions there?

I'm trying to sign up for a dynamic DNS and it's saying port forwarding is needed. I've heard port forwarding is not safe to do. Is it alright to do it in this case to get the dynamic DNS to work or is there another way?

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

Alright, I'll try to see what I can do. Yeah, I don't know who is handling the firmware. There isn't an update according to Lorex's site, and someone said they had to exchange the system through Lorex to get it to update. The time issue doesn't make sense to me, because it's set through the...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I turned off the motion detection completely on all of the channels and it is now recording continuously. The problem now is that the smart search feature isn't working, since motion detection is off. I'm not sure what to do to get the motion detection working again. I might try to do a search...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

So, I checked, and it was on H.264 by default. So, I changed it to H.265 and it didn't make a difference. I might try turning the NVR off and back on. The error message saying it can't decode came up again. It's connected to a 1080p TV, and the resolution set on the NVR for the display is...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I'll need to check, but I thought the NVR was actually on H.264 because I was surprised it wasn't on the latest standard by default. I'll need to double check though, because I could be wrong. Regardless of what it is set to, I might go ahead and change it to see if it makes a difference. The...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

Well, looking back, on the first day we had two cameras setup, and even then there were times when one, or both cameras weren't recording. Everything was default then. If anything was changed the first day it would have been the time.

Well, I've had the live view on for over 30 minutes without it cutting out, and now checking the recording there are gaps.. So, I don't think it is the wiring. That's good news.

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

Well, I've discovered a problem.. I mentioned previously that some of the cameras would go black and that I'd randomly click and they'd eventually appear again. Well, I'm thinking that it coming back on was not a result of randomly clicking, and was just a coincidence, because I've been...

Thank you! I've been looking at the router interface and see what you're talking about with the Clients and blocking Internet access. It's nice to know that's there! I'll be sure to work with those other settings when getting the router. I'll probably get everything setup with it before I plug...

    Lorex LNR1180

If you give Costco the item number they should be able to look it up in their system and let you know if they should be getting any more in. And you can call around too and ask other stores. I'd just recommend you keep reading on here and ask for help if you need it. I've learned a lot on here...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

It's a 1080p TV, but now that you mention it I did change the resolution on the NVR for the display to 720p because it made it larger and easier to read. Maybe that messed it up? I didn't think that'd make a difference with the actual NVR but maybe more work is done behind the scenes than I...

FYI - Some local Costco B&M have a Lorex / Dahua OEM 4K 6x camera kit and 8 port NVR for $800

I'm trying to be patient with the interface. Hopefully in time I'll understand it more. I still don't understand the decode thing but it's not a big deal I guess. I have four cameras plugged in an eight channel NVR to an HDTV using HDMI. I don't understand why it wouldn't be able to handle...

I've been able to spend a little more time with this system. By using the default settings, it's looking nice except for trying to see the license plates. If the car is really close to the camera it might pick it up. I haven't figured out how to change the shutter speed within the NVR. And It's...

Unsecured By Default from Major Retailers - Why?

Yeah, that makes sense that the business users want it done right the first time. They can't afford to mess it up. What changes would you like to see be made in the industry to help the average home user? There's a lot of people that can't afford a complete professional setup.
