    Review-Dahua/EmpireTech new doorbell cam Db6l 5mp

Yes sir, I'm running the same but slightly higher. I have mine rotated 90* and have tried the channel in corridor but I feel that it skews the image too much so I leave the display sideways (I may try customizing channel blocks to make it better). I have 2 steps coming up to my door, and it...

    Review-Dahua/EmpireTech new doorbell cam Db6l 5mp

Looks decent but I'm still going to hold off on a doorbell I think. Would you recommend integrating one of these in their current development state, or stick with a wide view turret/fisheye until this they get better? I'm not as interested in interacting with people at my door as I am...

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

Sorry, I forgot to report back. Didn't have a lot of time to test this but I didn't have any issues testing with 1 spare cam after 4 reboots. I don't reboot much either and don't usually rename my cams so it likely won't affect me much/if at all.

Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HFW5449T1-ASE+D2 - Dual Lens Full Color 2.0

No reason for him to blame you. Facts and details is what we are all here for. I was wanting one of these too but made the decision to hold off after reading of other issues prior to your post. Even though I may not be buying this cam from him at the present time, all of my other purchases are...

    log4j - Are we doomed?

Great article that puts it into perspective and put some of my concerns into the light. Fortunately, the company I work for will likely be doomed with this. LOL

    log4j - Are we doomed?

Oh, I'm no conspiracy theorist at all, not sure where you got that lunatic idea. Just what I've heard, and the telecom company I work for is completely clueless and ran by a bunch of the biggest dipshits I've ever seen. Also, seeing the pipeline that got shutdown, and reading/seeing of all the...

Year 1 grey kit receives a snarl back..

Good info. I have been going back and forth on the thought of leaving my overview cameras on close to default settings as I get better color and more visibiilty in the FOV without the need to add light. I know I won't be able to get fine details this way, but that is not their purpose. I...

how to connect to NVR via computer?

I'm guessing the problem is a setting on the NVR or maybe some sort of access restriction since you are seeing the IP address of the NVR with a network scanning tool...as long as the scanning tool is on your PC? If the scanning tool is being ran from a different device (say your router?), that...

    Interesting request from a customer.

My account got locked for some reason and they wanted a copy of my DLs to reset it. Fuck those rat bastards, no way in hell. So it sits idle for years.

Can't log into cameras on browser

GUI = Graphical User Interface. You should be able to enter the IP address of your NVR into internet Explorer to access it from your computer. From there, if you go to the camera registration page, click on the blue Internet Explorer icon to the right side of it's registration status. Install...

    Dahua DVR0804-1F-U-6 Hybrid DVR

Not that I've heard of. If anything maybe it could damage the sensor, running at a higher power, but I don't see how it could fully knock it offline. I happen to have a green laser, but not necessarily a cam I'm willing to sacrifice. :lmao:

    log4j - Are we doomed?

I'm just starting to hear more about this vulnerability. Supposedly it can infiltrate any computer system in the world and has the potential to shut down the internet. Reportedly, Iran is already trying to hack Israel's government computers with it. It has also been reported that 800,000 attacks...

    We Are Safe From Log4j

This doesn't mean everyone is safe though. I've heard it can affect almost any computer system. So though BI doesn't house the exploit, other programs on our system can. I'm just hearing more of this. If anyone has more details, please do share here.

Urgent!Apache Log4j2 Vulnerability issue on Dahua DSS

Uh, so I hear log4j can infiltrate any computer system and there is a high level threat it can be used to shut down the internet. I heard 800,000 attacks were detected within a 72 hour hour period, or 100 attacks per minute. Iran is already trying to hack into Israel's government computers. The...

PoE Cameras Not Detected by NVR

No worries! I don't know how to answer all of your follow-up questions, so I'll provide a direct link to the user guide for your NVR that will maybe help answer some of your questions. I find it explains most things good enough that it clicks for me if I don't fully know what I'm doing...

PoE Cameras Not Detected by NVR

In regards to the range. In terms of IPV4, the range/network is determined by the subnet mask/CIDR. By default, most private network address are a CIDR of /24 (subnet mask 255.255.255.0, most consumer grade devices and Windows uses this format). Each number between the dots is referred to as an...

Yeah, I don't even know how much I've spent with Andy over the past month. I've bought 9 (four PTZs), 2 NVRs, and junction boxes to boot, after installing my unused cams from him at my brother's a couple weeks back. I ordered 2 ZE's from him yesterday and got them today. Andy is fast fast...

    Ip camera pig tail code

I'm guessing red, black, and purple are related to your power/ground (and not solid cores). The blue/whiteblue, green/whitegreen are probably your data pins. Not all 4 pairs are used on traditional (non-POE) ethernet.
  28. Z

    Ip camera pig tail code

I was going to post something similar, but upon looking at his picture I see that is not the pigtail for a traditional POE IPC. He only has 7 wires which do not appear to be solid core and some are not the standard colors we use here in the US.

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

Dahua nvr5216-16p-4ks2e defaults random camera names after reboot

Sounds like you may have bigger issues than the camera names. I know you can go into the camera's web GUI and update the name there too...maybe there is a conflict and the NVR is not pushing the update correctly to the cameras? I know a lot of folks here advise to make any changes for the...
