    RF interference from IP POE

So that's a good find. If you are using the traditional old "rabbit ears" style dipole antenna, it won't perform well on UHF, but obviously is doing well on VHF-HI as it was intended. 4.1 and 5.1 are just to carry the old station branding as those channels have actually been re-assigned to UHF...

    RF interference from IP POE

Assume your nvr has poe ports and that is where you are connecting the cams. If available, using a poe switch to power the cams and connect to the nvr would be interesting.

    RF interference from IP POE

So this is a bit hard to understand. Are you saying when you unplug the ethernet cable that goes to the cam, the channel interfered with changes? So 11.1 is OK but some other channel is now "blocked"?

    RF interference from IP POE

So I wonder if you put an active device like a switch between the cam and the nvr, if it would kill the rf? Obviously close to the nvr.

    RF interference from IP POE

Well you are correct we need more info. I would suspect just a cam that is radiating on that freq. Would also wonder if powering off a 12vdc supply instead of poe would make a diiference. Your trouble shooting suggestions are well thought out. I was a broadcaster and went through the digital...

    RF interference from IP POE

Agree. "need to look that one up". The only compelling reason to move to UHF if you were on VHF high was that antennas might only be UHF in the future (now). But most stations did not think that far ahead. Are we off topic? OK , I say we it could be ME.

    RF interference from IP POE

Yes that is all true, but given that vhf high works great with 8VSB, no body I am aware of moved. But that doesn't mean this could be the one station that did. Of course that would be incredibly stupid and expensive, but hey you could be right. The issue was that ATSC using 8VSB was somewhat...

    RF interference from IP POE

Actually regardless of the "virtual channel of 11.1" the frequency is the same 6 Mhz block. In this case 198 to 204 Mhz. Not a relevant or accurate statement. In fact it is exactly the "actual RF channel the station uses". Might want to check that knowledge before pontificating. The OP was just...

Trespassing, destruction of property and attempted theft

That was odd. Having watched too many spy movies I would say tracking device. The whole thing seems odd and not a typical smash and grab type burglar. Did he think he had disabled both cams and then went to the car to plant something in the wheel well?

    Di-Electric Grease on Cat6

That's a great video and the product looks very good. I'm going to get some! Thanks @Whoaru99 for posting this.

    Di-Electric Grease on Cat6

From what I can see that appears to be a cleaner aerosol like deoxit or cramolin? Not an actual thick viscosity "grease" that will remain and protect the connection. It seems to be a cleaner which will dissipate?

I can't get the cameras time synced

No you don't need to check that. I had a heck of a time getting mine to work until I did a clean Win 10 install on my BI machine. Highly recommended. After that it just worked.

Yikes! No 3.5" HDD slot. Options?

It's really not about how big your machine is. If you care about security and believe your cams and BI are an important part of that security plan that must be reliable 24/7, then dedicate a pc to the job. If you don't, you run the risk of missing something important. If you don't care about...

So since I hate to fix stuff that ain't broke, I may pass on this "update". Unless you brave ones say it has some value? Any additional fix or features?

    Port scanner shows it open

I think that would depend on how you have the Webserver in BI configured. Check the tab in BI and see if port 81 is set for lan access.

    Port scanner shows it open

You definitely don't want to forward any ports. I remember from the other thread you have an ASUS router. If you go to the OpenVPN page while your phone is connected (via the cell network), you should see "connected" for the account on that device. At that point you know your are inside the home...

    IP Address/ Find Inspect

Not familiar with the Netgear router but it should be documented. If it supports OpenVPN, that's what you want. You will need to put .ovpn file on both phones and the OpenVPN app. You will also create a log on for each user in the router. Then when you open the app on your phone and connect...

    IP Address/ Find Inspect

Glad to hear you got it working! Can we convince you to not port forward? Read the link on VPN above and consider setting up. Port forwarding is dangerously insecure.

    HIKVISION NVR - Firewall Config - IVMS-4500

That ASUS router makes OpenVPN setup really easy. Mention you are considering that to the WISP tech as he may need to forward 1194 for OpenVPN to work. There are some very good recent threads on here about the ASUS and OpenVPN setup. Best!

    HIKVISION NVR - Firewall Config - IVMS-4500

That is double NAT. WISP is blocking the forwarded ports possibly. You should really VPN. IMHO.

Those 10. addresses look like maybe the WISP is also using NAT. Double NAT? What does tracert 8.8.8.8 show on the first couple hops?

    IP Address/ Find Inspect

You should read the help file in BI. Find/Inspect will not automatically select the proper IP Address for you. You need to manually configure your cams and your IPs. Seems pretty likely the IPs changed when the router changed and you need to fix that. Using dhcp reservation will prevent that...

@looney2ns did you ever do a thread on this? I still have the pics you sent me. It is fairly simple to do. I just used velcro to secure the ssd although I have seen caddies made for the purpose. Also you need a sata power splitter.

external drive on Dell Opt. SFF, MFF, USFF

Curious why you wouldn't install a small ssd for os in the dvd slot and use the 3.5 HD slot for a purple? I did this with the sff Dell.

Can I use a POE switch to power the cameras, but also my PCs?

Well as @Whoaru99 points out, you could do a VLAN. Then just one wire to garage. "Virtual Local Area Network" as opposed to the physical separation we discussed.
