    OpenVpn on Dedicated Router

That is the subnet mask. You really need to get a basic understanding to undertake this. I think your default on the netgear makes your subnet 254 or 192.168.254.xxx and the ASUS is probably .1 or 192.168.1.xxx. Do an ipconfig command on your pc and post here.

    OpenVpn on Dedicated Router

So you may need to do some reading to get a basic understanding of what is going on here and networking. The Netgear will be in bridge mode and it will connect to Frontier ISP. Then you will connect one of its lan ports to the wan port of the ASUS. The ASUS will then serve your existing lan...

    OpenVpn on Dedicated Router

No. The Netgear will do that.

    OpenVpn on Dedicated Router

Not sure what that means. When you bridge the netgear, the ASUS will become your router. So it will be your dhcp server. If it is configured for a different subnet than your current lan, it may look like you have no internet. Have you matched the subnet on the ASUS to the Netgear?

    OpenVpn on Dedicated Router

You need to put the Netgear in bridge mode so as @SouthernYankee stated, it is just a modem. Forget about all those protocols as you will be using OpenVPN. ASUS has a great help file you might consider reading.

    Nosey neighbor cams

So best idea is to ignore and look at the light spilling over as a benefit. BUT I had another thought: How about a PTZ with a bright ir on "patrol" that sweeps his cam every so often? Should cause exposure and motion detection chaos. Granted only at night.

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

As previously stated, do a factory reset on that cam. IIRC there is a little pinhole you stick a paper clip in for 30 seconds or so.

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

Sorry but often on this forum someone will stumble in to a thread and know the answer. You would really be better off selling it and getting a nice Dahua starlight. Huge difference. You could probably still use the Alert power supply if you don't want to run wires (recommended) Good Luck!

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

Well assuming you are running the commander software on the same PC and it works, probably not. I'd factory reset the cam and go back to the default admin/admin user/password. You could try vlc on the pc just to prove rtsp but it looks like BI found the port fine. So I am guessing user/password...

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

well one other "shot in the dark", are you using the logitech commander program at the same time? I have found these cameras have trouble supporting more than one stream.

Yes. Can you ping the cam? Have you tried the find/inspect in BI?

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

OK. Same as mine. I'm guessing you have a user/password issue. I see in the IP Scan there were two WiLife cams so assume you have tried them both?

HDMI hum from BI PC at AV Receiver

So I wonder if the A/V center outlet has the ground issue? I have a similar situation but with a 50 foot hdmi cable, two different AC outlets. No hum. But it doesn't take much potential difference to cause hum. So is the receiver connected to the tv by analog audio? I assume the hdmi from the...

HDMI hum from BI PC at AV Receiver

Seems weird there is a ground potential difference in what seems to be a short distance. Maybe one outlet is not properly grounded. In some older installations I have seen outlets replaced from the old two wire style to a newer grounded outlet and the ground lug was connected to the conduit. No...

Seriously consider Ebay. There is still a contigency out there that will pay a premium for these cams. You can get over $100 and buy a really nice Dahua 2231 or

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

OK that sounds good. You will use the DHCP reservation settings you found for each camera. If the list of devices is not on the same screen then there will probably be a DHCP screen where you will see devices. You may need to read a help file for that router. Here is my config:

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

Yes I am using the original Logitech supply but the cameras work directly connected as poe also. Tell us a little about your network. What type of router? You will need to be able to assign a "reserved" IP for each camera using the router that is acting as your dhcp server. Hopefully you have...

    Logitech Alert cameras in BI

Best thing would be to sell them on Ebay and get better cams, but I admit I still have one and it is working with BI. @TonyR is correct the IP cannot be made static, so the first order of business is to get into your router and reserve IPs for the cams. You need to make sure the IPs don't...

"No signal" on a few Cams - but they work fine

we've actually seen this complaint on the forum many times. And the poster is usually hard to convince since apps that don't use rtsp seem to work fine as @fenderman points out. While it seems odd to you, we see it as expected behavior due to wifi. You can verify with VLC which will use rtsp...

Adding New Camera - Not As Easy As I Thought

OK, Also might as well match the gateway to the other cams at 10.10.90.1 I don't know anything about IVMS but I would assume you want an unassigned ip address. So if .37 is used, try something else.

Adding New Camera - Not As Easy As I Thought

It is on a different subnet. Change ip address in SADP to put it on the 10.10.90.xxx. May have to experiment or find the ip addresses of all devices on that network but looks like 10.10.90.37 would work.

OpenVPN, Must Router be Inline to Modem?

I think you are describing what would be expected since the ASUS is in the DMZ. Just run one more wire or move the ASUS so everyting is downstream of it and the ATT modem is passthrough to the ASUS WAN port. If bridge mode is not easy to set, have ATT send you the BGW210-700. I believe the...

OpenVPN, Must Router be Inline to Modem?

Did you disable the firewall on the ATT modem? If so, it would seem all those AV Center devices are exposed directly to the internet.

OpenVPN, Must Router be Inline to Modem?

I don't know if either way is better. Give it a try as it sounds like the physical layout dictates the install for now. I like the features on the ASUS like reserved ip addresses, but the ATT may do everything you need. It is actually a clever way to gain OpenVPN and additional wifi.

OpenVPN, Must Router be Inline to Modem?

No you will want to put the Asus in AP mode and not use it as a router to use as drawn. You do not want two dhcp servers. Also OpenVPN default should be port 1194 which you would need to forward but udp only. I imagine there is some entertainment system reason to do this? I have an att modem...
