Is HiKvision's camera better than Dahua's?
I do have both, and they both have strengths and weaknesses. But in my opinion the pricing of Dahua from @EMPIRETECANDY makes them a better buy. Also, for me it is much easier to understand dahua model naming convention. Yet Hikvision integrates better with surveillance station NVR i use at... -

Helped a bit, but still lags behind. Perhaps need to upgrade my BI machine. From my understanding Intel HW acceleration not working if motherboard does not support video out. And NVidia hw acceleration not as good for BI? -

I do notice this camera is always lagging in blue iris. It gets behind other 3 cameras by 20-25 seconds and then instantly catches up. It is messing up detection and events marked on time line usually 15-20 seconds after the event had happened. Maybe good idea to nuke it from BI and add again. -

DeepStack LPR Custom Model
Just from observing the BI feed, most missed license plates are on white cars. So white car and slim plate bezel gives issues. On unrelated note BI just acts randomly by not sending images to platerecognizer :idk: . Deepstack tells that it is a car and there is a plate in the picture, yet some... -

Not yet, just curious if somehow SD card might be causing it, Maybe will try to put in fresh one just to test. Did you format SD card while doing reset as well? Also ALPR jus stopped working again, and I think it might have been triggered by passing car. -

My cam just started acting up. At first it was showing strange color HUE in the BlueIris, browser feed was ok, reboot fixed the issue. Next day camera started having intermittent connection drops in BI, web interface was ok and ALPR on cam worked fine. REboot of cam fixed BI issue again. Today... -

There is whole ITCPUSH protocol which i assume pushes all kind of information to a external server, but so far could not find any documentation on it. P.S. Reran commands during the day same numbers. So looks like no focus compensation for day/nigh. status.Focus=0.244444... -

Sad that even in this price range dahua struggles with day/night focus switch. Having zoom maxed out doesn't help either :( What worked for me is finding perfect night focus and day focus, Noting the values, and finally setting the focus to night value with maybe 1-2 steps towards day focus... -

Also one interesting observation: snap images it takes most likely is not an image it used to OCR the plate. Case and point it got the plate right, car not even in the frame :rofl: -

It does miss some cars entirely, but i do not have perfect field of view. On the outer lane ident area is pretty short and that is the direction it misses the most. But overall with this imperfect setup, i would say it captures 94-95% -

Yea i find brand/type/color to be pretty unreliable, so contemplating turning them off, might help unloading cam CPU to handle ANPR even better :) -

@Billyjack5 Thanks for the info, I always assumed it had manual focus and did some sort of offset when turning BW. I am running on October 2020 firmware so 210719 is a big update for me. However if something newer comes out soon, perhaps to fix issue with firmware not installing i can wait a... -

I think @Wildcat_1 had issue with it too. I just remember they went with 210719 update. Which is newer than what i have. Is there update after 210922? If not Andy can you upload 210719 please? -

Blue Iris and DeepStack ALPR
@MikeLud1 Really nice work on the integration. I had a similar idea to use deepstack license plate and some OCR model , but to avoid BI since it is not very convenient to lookup license plates history, and sometimes not very reliable. Any idea how hard would it be to use this integration to...
