Do we have this for Linux too?

IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 - What is the focus issue?

Yes and no, not sure if it's because of the different unit or they they are 3 years old 5231e-z12 physically and no longer in tip top shape. Or I suspect need a stronger and more central image My 1 lpr, at about 150ft with very strong marker and tape fairly central to the image can actually do...

IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 - What is the focus issue?

Put a driveway markers or reflector sticker within frame so it's not completely dark. Also great for confirming focus. Near mid far shakers stickers

Help improving image setings IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E setup as a LPR

if you are deadset on needing to cover both lanes, here are somethings you can try, some of these are counter intuitive, counter best practices preached, but what have you got to lose by trying? 1) 150ft seem to be the common point, NAIL down a day focus value and a night focus value for that...

Need Help tweaking HFW5231E-Z12 for night @ 240ft

It's one of those little giant type ladder, the wide angle lens made it look funny On other news, last night capture rate was very good even with the rain. I'm calling this a success but waiting for the laser illuminator as the final piece of the enhancement

Make me tempted to mount it at the second story soffitz too bad my ladder won't reach. Maybe if I pay the construction crew a few bucks.... Nah take too much work to aim it and I won't be able to reach it

I think the higher height is helping, getting decent capture tonight (knock on wood). This one was just the z12 IR too, as I didn't have a chance to aim El cheapo v1 yet

Permanently Mounted the backyard lpr as high as my ladder will reach, hoping that helps with the lens flare. Only thing left is the IR light. Waiting for the laser illuminator to arrive from China

IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 - What is the focus issue?

Yes I did get the ipcam power one instead of the cheaper one because the cheap one have at the far end 2 female and a male plug when I need all 3 female. My ptz was wattage too much for the nvr to drive it through the pft1300 with one port. It also didn't dhcp the second camera correctly...

IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 - What is the focus issue?

Actually I found this to be better than that v repeater extender if you aren't planning to cascade it further, especially with higher power draw like ptz and camera with high power ir for long range zoom. Each get their full share of power and they don't even need to be on the same switch...

A bit of both. I'm also a cheapskate not willing to pay for even the blackoak much less the Axton lol. Also love finding a good bargain or diy hack/tweak

Need Help tweaking HFW5231E-Z12 for night @ 240ft

I will put some silica gel pack in them before putting them back together. The lonnky have decent gasket and some hardened goop by the wire entry into the housing. The JC 4 led have no gasket so I will put some di electric grease to water proof the thread 20mm lens compare to the lonnky 16mm...

Need Help tweaking HFW5231E-Z12 for night @ 240ft

so.... it seems the LONNKY illuminator may not be ideal... 1 it doesn't use regular 20mm lens, 2 its only total about 6-6.5w, I think a combo of 1 3W batwing type LED and 7 5050 0.5w chips LED which mean its not much of an improvement over the 4W one I first brought............. BUT BUT...

Infrared Illuminator Microlight IR Vario XXL

Welp ran into some speedbump with v2. The illuminator arrived today but I basically have to disassemble the entire thing too access the lens. That's not the problem. Turns out it didn't use the standard 20nm lens but some funky 16mm with housing 14mm without housing lens one 60 degree one...

Suggestions for adding a network jack outside.

I think we meant run the powerline to the GFCI, then convert that to fiber, coax, cat6 for the remaining 8ft to the second plug downstream from the GFCI which I think where you were trying to get the data to?

Suggestions for adding a network jack outside.

That's why I also said Coax, can get some shielded coax easily, and a cheap DirectTV DECA would handle the data over coax for 10/100. For 8' and 10/100 I doubt the induced noise would be enough to knock it off 100 with cat6 assuming one is willing to "bend the rules" on the code of course

Suggestions for adding a network jack outside.

8 feet is not a long run, can you shove a cat 6 or coax through the conduit from the GFCI plug to the second plug? if not re-wiring that 8' run (even reusing the same 14awg wires) is not too bad unless there are many twist and turns. Probably not to code but....

    Tendelux 4W, 8W, or is there a 950nm option?

A picture of what you are trying to light up would help. 30ft diameter at 10ft you are probably wanting a 120 degree spread or more 100ft in diamter at how far?

Infrared Illuminator Microlight IR Vario XXL

Just chipping in with my 2 cents. For those on a budget this maybe a cheap DIY hack. I'm typing this up on my laptop but will edit and attach some pictures from my phone as examples. V1 - PoC (Proof of Concept) I brought this IR Illuminator, default to about 60 degree spread. I believe it is...

Need Help tweaking HFW5231E-Z12 for night @ 240ft

I get great shot like this at the same setting and focus as bad one like the other. I don't even know if it's the tail light lens flare or something with the plate being less reflective. Since I do manage to get some readable plates with the bright tail light looks like that sometime. Anyhow...

Need Help tweaking HFW5231E-Z12 for night @ 240ft

Toward the cam is less problem as they will always turn left or right then the lens flare go away which I most likely will catch a glimpse of the legible plate. Turning right and going away, for the challenging plates, usually even if the plate first enter the frame it is still not legible...

The bright taillight is also causing lens flare. If I close down the iris you would see the star burst rays

Then there are these which is the most challenging to get going to try to bump the sharpness up since the plates are bright enough without much gain noise
