As I posted I not only deleted it I reformatted the disk. I now have 48 clips and the same error. federman, I am not on a support plan. I used diskcheck.

    Clip: Disk not ready (0)

Nothing changed. I shut everything down and formatted the D: drive and it was working fine for a little while then it started back again with the "Clip: Disk not ready (0)" error and starts a new set of continuous recordings for all six of my cameras. And it just did it again while I am...

    Clip: Disk not ready (0)

Thanks fenderman. No, recording to another drive in my computer. BI is installed on my C: drive and storage is installed on D: drive. And it has worked for years, problem just started yesterday. Disk checks out fine, rebooted, ran maintenance, rebuilt database, refreshed, did everything I can...

Is there a restart time setting?

When I removed BI running as a service, it managed to stay on without the 8:00 am shutdown. Now I am going to set it to run as a service again and see what happens.

Is there a restart time setting?

Every morning at 8:00am my BI restarts. Message in log says "Restarted after unexpected shutdown." I am not sure if it is BI if it says "unexpected." But my computer never shuts down. Could it be running as a service that may be doing this?

Motion detect - Shadows, Hot spots, A>B zones etc - much luck?

Tro I understand your frustration with the "Help" function. It is not a HOW TO manual. It is simply a terse description of the functions with little or no explanation. Historically software documentation is very poorly written and this is no exception. You will just need to spend some time...

    Picking a dedicated PC

Ok, but the fact is I am using it with BI as a dedicated system and it works great! Thanks for the wonderful discussion. You being the expert in all, I will let you have the last word. Carry on!

    Picking a dedicated PC

Forgive me one last time. But I did mention that I am right now building a server that will be running BI and servicing my storage needs on my network? And I will probably be upgrading my cameras if I perceive a new requirement. The stick will be employed in other areas of my network for...

    Picking a dedicated PC

OK. I dont dispute that. BUT, it works! And it works great! I think the latest bios update has a boot on power option. You know boys, I'm not exactly running the Green Door at the Pentagon. And I doubt you are either. Carry on!

    Picking a dedicated PC

Thanks mbill. As you see there are others who do not agree, but it is secure as any Win10 computer and it works quite well with BI and near zero footprint and energy consumption. It suites my needs quite well.

    Picking a dedicated PC

I was not being misleading, I didnt know that stating resolution was a prerequisite. All my storage is on the stick, the stick is the machine, the stick is a full computer ex keyboard and monitor. It will run 1080p, its only output is 1080p, and it works fine. Carry on!

    Picking a dedicated PC

Not everybody has the same bleeding edge attitude about security systems nayr. The fact that some find 640x480 perfectly acceptable is really not for you to judge. If you need thousand 100mp cameras, ten megaterabytes of SSD storage and two warehouses full of servers, that's fine, that is your...

    Motion triggered outside of zone

I get the same thing. It appears that the whole picture is being analyzed by BI. I cleared all the zones and hotspots and redrew them. Still giving alerts for motion outside the zone. Using simple algorithm also.

    Picking a dedicated PC

fenderman and Matthew Roy, you are correct. I was just throwing that out there so you know a secure system can be done for very little cost and with very little power. The video quality is quite good and sufficient for my home purposes. My only requirement is to see who comes on my property...

    Picking a dedicated PC

I have two 720p cams and the rest are 640x480. The output from the stick is 1080p. So it is plugged into my tv hdmi port. Picture quality is excellent and I run all but one camera at 15 fps. One camera is run at 30fps. Not a single hiccup since I got all the settings right. It works great...

    Picking a dedicated PC

I have 5 cameras on this Lenovo Stick 300 running a Atom processor with a 32gb built in storage 64gb micro sd and 2gb RAM. It works just fine with an attached usb hub and a usb gigabit ethernet adapter. All my cameras are now wired instead of wireless and I am getting whatever FPS I need...

changed routers and now cannot get my BI server to work

I went into my router and disabled all filters and now it works. SO I need to start adding back the filters to the firewall and see what is keeping it from port forwarding. However, when I did a port scan, it only shows the port I forwarded to be open and all others filtered. SO maybe I am...

changed routers and now cannot get my BI server to work

When I do a port check, there seem to be no open ports after I switched routers to a newer Linksys EA2700 dual band router. I opened a single port forward for my BI computer and it seems to do no good. I get hung up on the page that tests the BI server WAN access. When I do the port check it...
