    Bandwidth question

I've tried with my BI machine connected over WiFi for several weeks when I was testing. I had zero issues and performace was identical to me being connected to my wired network. But I can also get 150Mb/s throughput over wireless N with each AP. My cameras are only sending 40Mb/s to 60Mb/s...

    Bandwidth question

Wifi is very reliable if the wifi network is properly setup. ie. multiple APs, no congestion, excellent signal strength for all devices, and no saturated APs. I've been runnning eight of my cameras, streaming over wifi 24/7/365, with BI since 2013. They have been every bit as rock solid as the...

Chromecast Support Added to Android app 1.0.58

I guess I spoke too soon. AFter casting BI to my Chromecast it seems like it made BI4 crash. BI4 has been rock solid otherwise for me.

Is the new BlueIris 4 worth the upgrade at this moment?

It really depends. RIght now BI4 v21 64bit has been working great for me since revision 11 or 13. BI4 has been updating automatically for me and accessing all my cameras without issue. Just like BI3 did. So far I have not noticed any storage issues. it seems to work just like BI3 did for me. I...

Recommended online FTP services for Clips Backup

Many hosting services allow that for FTP. The last couple I've had over the last few years(iPage and FatCow)or so have had FTP with a bunch of storage.

    3tb WD Purple Drive/ External/BI Help

How old is the PC to not be able to see a 3TB drive? Even an old PC I have from nine years ago will recognize a 3TB drive. it will even recognize 6TB drives. if the drive is actually dead just exchange it where you purchased it. If it was purchased from a place like Newegg, Newegg will pay for...

    Camera Configuration Question

I just tried this with a couple of my cameras. I set them for higher than was being sent and also for lower. Each time BI automatically changed it back to the proper resolution that it was receiving. Thanks for the info. I never realized that BI did this.

    Version 4.0.0.16 (January 5, 2015)

v17 updated properly. With the auto update i've never had any issues where the systems hangs. It has always restarted without any problems. V17 seems to be working fine here. Since my initial problem where I couldn't start the program after the install.. Since that was fixed each version has...

It also recommends to turn off automatic updating so you won't get the nag screen while running version 3. Since version 3 is old now.

I like that Blue Iris will automatically check and install updates. When I check it each evening it has already installed the most recent update.

    3tb WD Purple Drive/ External/BI Help

But how many drives can get to those speeds? You need to be running a RAID 0 to get that fast. My Samsung 1TB SSD will hit speeds of around 520MB/s. But that is only around 4.2Gb/s. I would need to run two SSDs in a RAID 0 to hit speeds of 6Gb/s.

    Version 4 is now available!

My version 3 is still on the machine. I can still open it and use it too if I want. When I installed version 4, it picked up all the settings from my version 3. So all the camera settings and file locations were the same as v3 when I first opened v4. Which made things so much easier since I...

    Version 4 is now available!

Yes working great here too with the 64 bit version. I never had any memory issues with BI3. And I haven't really noticed any difference in CPU usage with BI4. It is still using one core most of the time in my setup. When I get these four HikVision 3MP cameras in a few weeks I'll see how much...

let my gaurd down - ready to fight back with tech

Yes. I used to have them in the early 2000's. Never again. There are many other options that also cost much less for monitoring. Personally I just upgraded my main alarm system to one with a touch screen, that can use wifi, cellular and even control z-wave devices. I didn't go the cellular route...

Setup additional Access Points. I use four APs on my WiFi network. Each AP can handle 2.4 and 5Ghz simultaneously. I use Asus RT-N56U and Asus RT-N65U routers in Access Point mode. And I use the custom Padavan firmware with them.

    HDD for BI 4

I've been using an SSD for the main storage since last year with Blue Iris. It has worked great. But I only reserve 30GB of space for it on the SSD.
