Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

I've had my AMEX number stolen a half dozen times over the last 25 years. It's no big deal with AMEX. Whether it's a $10 or $10,000 charge I have nothing to worry about. I owe nothing. AMEX will just change my number and overnight a card to me. And with merchants that already have the old...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

Where did I say I said my phone was secured? I'm just not a Tin Foil Hat type of person. I'm not about to go to any extreme lengths for these things. My biggest concern is with the banks and credit card companies. Which I have no control over. Those are where I'm most likely to have an issue...

    Blue Iris Android app

Is there a new version of the app coming? Ever since it last updated, I've had issues with my three tablets(Tab S 10.5 and two Google Nexus 7(2013 tablets) running Android 6.0. The BI app will close right after opening. But I never had any issues with the app on my old Galaxy S6 running Android...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

Sure I send private emails, but I couldn't care less if someone else read them. There is no information there I'm worried about. I do online banking but that is typically from an app on my phone or tablets. And I have photos but again I couldn't care less if someone else saw them. Nothing...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

The only information like that is with my actual credit card companies and Banks., And there is nothing I can do if/when they get compromised. Since I have no control over them.

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

I've got around 150TB of available storage on my network. 129TB from three unRAID setups. And the rest from other smaller NAS devices and PCs. But I only have a few terabytes of data that I would not want to lose. Pictures, Music, documents, etc. WHich I back up locally to a RAID 0 NAS, back up...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

Nothing I can do about the Wemo devices. I have no ports open for them. Between my Wemo switches and Smart Things devices, I have three dozen devices that are accessed by my Samsung Smart Things Hub and app. It is whatever it is. I really can't do anything about them if I want to use them. But...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

Out of sight out of mind. :) As long as I don't see an issue then I don't care. ??? The white house has thousands of connections on their network. I keep adding more and more devices. Like all these Wemo Smart switches I have now. I have over fifty wireless devices(using five Access Points) on...

Verizon WAN stops working in a few hours so BI app can't work unless it's in same network...

I'm not worried about it. I've had ports open for remote access to devices for over twelve years. Never had an issue, and I'm not really worried about having one. If someone were to hack my dozen cameras on my network what will they see? Not very much. Then I have over ninety other devices on my...

I've never had an issue forwarding ports. Without the proper passwords people can't access.

What about the Android app? It updated recently, like a week or two ago. Since then the app crashes when it first opens. Prior to that update it was solid? I've already rolled my BI server back from the update yesterday. The app issue is not related to the BI update yesterday.

Did something change after the update? None of my remote clients now connect with my BI server. They worked this morning but now my three tablets and cellphone do not connect.

Try using SSDs for the recordings instead of platter drives.

    high cpu usage

There is barely anything used. Chrome is using Megabytes, not Gigabytes. But there is certainly somethng going on if the CPU usage is so high with an i7. I use a 3.1Ghz core i5 with nine 3MP Hikvisions and three 1MP HooToo cameras. With Direct to Disc all cameras can be recording and my CPU...

    Windows 10 and Blue Iris

I've been running BI4 on Windows 10 since Win10 launched. I've had no problems. It works just like it did with Windows 8.1. Only Windows 10 is a better OS. So far I've upgraded seven of my machines to Windows 10. I've had no issues with any of them.

Thoughts after upgrading from 3MP turret to 4MP dome

Setup multiple APs. That is required for a properly setup WiFi network. I can stream continuously from my nine 3MP Hikvision and three 1MP HooToo cameras all day with zero issues over WiFi. Whether wired or wireless(2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) the performance is identical. But I also have four Access...

    Offsite Storage?

I use MS One Drive. You get unlimited storage with Office 365 which is only $60 or $70 a year. Unless you buy it from MS directly in which case it is $99 a year. They say it's unlimited but it shows up for me as 10TB of storage. And if I need more than 10TB I am supposed to contact them...

Windows 10 - Auto Startup Problem w/ Blue Iris

Run it as a service. This is what i do with Windows 10. All I needed to do was check the box in the settings to run as as service. Now as soon as the PC boots and the OS loads, before login, the BI4 service is running. And I can access BI4 from other devices. or I can log into the PC and run BI4...

Review - TOP-201 Super Mini 720P HD IP-Cam (The Cheapest IP Cam So Far !!)

I have to place my Hikvision cameras very close to the Windows glass. When I do that, I don't have much reflection issue from the window with IR. And can see over 20 feet away at night. But if I move the camera back a little, then there are issues from the ir reflection.

Standalone Java app for dedicated live view with Instant Replay

On a Windows 10 machine, I just downloaded the zip. Extracted it. Then just created a shortcut to the BlueIrisViewer.jar file. When I click on this shortcut, it opens up full screen, with all the cameras, on the monitor I selected in the options menu. I never saw a command window pop up the...

Setup a proper WiFi network. A properly setup WiFi network requires multiple Access points. I use four APs, just in my condo, to make sure I always have excellent signal strength for 2.4 and 5Ghz throughtout my condo. So that there are never any congestion or saturation issues. And so that my...

Laptop or Desktop? BI setup 101 question:

Try the "Google Remote Desktop". This is what I use to access my Windows systems. As well as the machine I run BI4 on. It's free and works very well. And I can also use my Android cell phone and tablets to access the PCs with "Google Remote Desktop" too.

I just installed this on my BI4 machine. It works great. Thanks!! I did notice that it works in the Edge browser in Windows 10. And there also isn't a long delay for the audio to start like in the Chrome Browser.
