    I’ve settled on the Firewalla appliance. Mostly because they are extremely flexible and easy to use. I don’t have packet level control per se, but quite powerful. The Purple is quite enough for home or small office https://firewalla.com/

    ^^^^^ This Use IVS only. Though I run mine at 10 sens. I rarely get a critter. Maybe 1 every two months

    Use the serial number of the NVR to create the DMSS profile. NOT the QR code You use the Manual add method

    Easy thing to test. Load up DMSS on your phone (I dont know Android OS so I cant help there), turn on P2P on the NVR, add the NVR via Serial number to DMSS, and turn off your wifi on the phone to simulate being remote.

I havent used PC-NVR since once trying it years ago. I would think the Events list would clear on closing or restarting the program. I'll test...
