Hardware spec for a BI machine.
Yes! When I got my "new" BI machine, it came with a 1TB drive. It was slooowwww. I replaced it with a 400 GB SSD. Amazing difference. I wouldn't consider anything else now, for the OS and programs. Data files on a spinning platter is fine. -

If the windows open, figure some way to get a shelf that is held in by the window. Close the window down on a thing piece of metal or wood. Block any openings with foam and block the window from opening, since the lock will have to be disengaged. It will work fine and no damage. I have setup...- TVille

REOLINK beta firmware allows Iframe adjusting to work in Blue Iris!!
The iFrame issue is only one of many reasons Reolink is not popular on here. As you get more experienced, with better cameras, you will discover a plethora of other issues. However, if you are satisfied with their performance, then great! -

I'm running with OUT a GPU. The i7-6700 has fine onboard video for BI. It does not use the GPU for DS, but otherwise works great. I think you need to focus on the basics. Make sure that BI is working, motion detection working, not going off every 15 seconds, which will murder you with DS... -

If you have BI working properly, with motion detection working, and reasonable CPU utilization, and nothing else running on the machine, then reinstalling BI and Windows is overkill, IMO. If you do, make sure you do a 100% clean install from the media creation tool. And make sure you deactivate... -

Memory is NOT your problem, assuming you meant 24 GB. My i7-6700 is running 16 GB, and ran fine with 8 GB before I added another stick. Heck, right now my BI says 1.63 GB being used, just sitting there... -

Yep! I'm running a 6th Gen, over a dozen 2 & 4 MP cameras, DeepStack, two cameras on ALPR, and my DS returns run about a second, unless I get a bunch of stuff happening at the same time. Of, and the PC is playing Spotify on a couple of outdoor speakers. :) -

I'll be a little more optimistic than @bigredfish , but not much. If you want to tinker, and have something at the shop, then probably. Important word - "tinker". While @wittaj 's recommended shutter is 8.33, that is a starting point. If you are not trying to catch sprinting deer, slow it way down, try 12 ms. I have a 2431 3.6 mm on deer duty and am running it at 12 ms. Yes, it will blue on some motion, but should reduce the grain a fair amount. I've... -

That would be why I record my LPR camera, and all my cameras 24/7. If motion misses something, or something occurs outside my motion range, I still have it for a week or two. If a local ALPR option becomes available, I'll take it too! -

Trying to renew Blue Iris..no key
I think it took a few hours, or longer, to get the update key. When mine auto updated this year, I got a couple of warning emails, and then an email from Digital River with the key. Just have patience, and check your spam folder. -
