What version of Windows? My Win 8.1 machine requires the windows password before Bi will start up the console. I've never bothered to figure it out, it works, and it is a remote location. My Win 10 at home doesn't have that issue.
Try setting a Windows password, reboot, and see if that works.
Well, there is always the SD49225XA-HNR, 4.8 - 120 mm vs 5 - 60 mm for the Z12E. I have both, and the 49225 is way better for long distance! Of course, it is approaching twice the price too!
It is old and tired, so it is screaming in pain running at that furious pace!
And if you are a neighbor, I'd probably do it for free. Otherwise, I would have to charge you travel costs...
Hope your knee is okay, hurting those sucks! It is up to 25 F here today. Sun is out and melting what is left on the driveway.
I posted a time lapse of me plowing our driveway with the ATV in the captures forum: Plowing Driveway with ATV 30x
Our driveway is fairly steep and so I try and plow it before it gets driven on. Plowed it last night with the ATV. The ATV is a 225 Yamaha from 1988, runs fine. This is about 24 minutes of plowing in 47 seconds.
For the camera nerds, it is a 5442T-ZE. It is in full color because there are a...
We got the same snow @Smilingreen got, just a few hours later. It started at 3:00 pm or so, and ended around 9:00 pm. We probably got a couple of inches on the ground. It was warm so a lot melted. It's now below 30, so it will hang around for a couple of days.
It depends on how much light you have, how fast the cars are moving, and how far away they are. I think it may be possible. As @wittaj said, try another camera and post the results here. I have a camera that just happens to catch plates in daytime at 40'-60', but not at night without IR, even...
And some of us just update to the bleeding edge version and bleed some, then fall back to one that works for a little while, and repeat. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
Blue Iris offers free upgrades for one year after purchase. Beyond that you need a $30 subscription to get updates.
This is a common issue that arises on here, where folks don't understand the upgrade policies of BI. Pay your $30 subscription and you are good to go!
After being blind, or the poll not showing up, I finally found it!
Got her up to over 34% - I'm not telling how many times I voted. They don't ask for ID....
Wifi is unlikely to handle the data stream you want, reliably. Normal security type cameras provide no buffering and will not "catch up". A dedicated RF link can handle the traffic, but wifi has shown to be problematic. You can try a Dahua 5442 series camera, which lists the ability to run at 60...
Another reference point. 14 cameras, running 12-15 fps, DeepStack, ALPR, i7-6700, 16 GB, seeing about 20% CPU.
As others have said, screen shots of the BI Satus page for cameras will show a lot.
Humans have forgotten a lot of basic animal instincts as we have "evolved".
Close stores for a week and you would have absolute pandemonium from most humans who couldn't survive without microwavable food and cold cereal. Many of the folks here would be sitting on their front porch, shotgun in...
Technically, it is doable. But, you have to build it. Direct feed from a camera will struggle with wifi, particularly at 60 fps. Here would be my approach:
1. Find camera that can meet your tech specs for the camera only. See if you can find a name brand wifi camera with integral wifi. I'll...
Yes, values.
But, reporting to the police doesn't really work anymore. Because in almost all locations now, getting a ticket written for this is damned near impossible. Used to be police, prosecutors, judges were on the side of law abiding citizens. Now, they are on their side, figuring out...
I'm running the latest version of BI on Windows 8.1, which apparently still is supported by MS. I haven't updated it in years, works fine.

In my case, I run around 600 GB per day of video. I can't back that up through my internet connection. My point is simple, actually calculate how much you need to backup daily to see if it is feasible.
If some one breaks in with the intent to destroy my DVR disks, they are most likely very...
How much are you trying to backup? If you are recording 24/7 you will need unlimited cap on bandwidth. I have mine email or push alerts to my phone. No off site backup besides that. My Xfinity cable allows me 1.2 TB per month. I record about 7 TB every 10 days. No way to back it up through that...
The remote location uses satellite internet, and Starlink isn't available at the location due to obstructions. So i have had updates turned off for almost a decade. Been running fine. I upgraded the cameras from USB cams to Hikvision to AndyCams, and get BI updated. No issues there. It doesn't...
I have BI running on Win8.1 at a remote location and Win10Pro on my home location. For a headless system that just runs BI, I do not see what Win11 could possibly bring. I can't tell a difference between the 8.1 and 10 in terms of performance or operating.
My password manager and even copy/paste won't get the passwords into the Dahua password box, which is really irritating!!
As @fenderman said, if someone has that level of access, you have other issues you should be concerned about.
Try changing to 264 for main and sub streams. Turn off hard ware acceleration. I have the same CPU configuration - i7-6700/16GB/SSD/WD Purple running 14 cameras, rarely do i have any real skipping. I do see some lag when watching recordings through BI.
The first guy, and I admit, I didn't watch his entire one hour and 20 minutes, got his undies in a tangle because Dr. Campbell said the Pfizer drug use the same mode. As in same approach, but different details. This guy then gets into the biological weeds, which is where his expertise is, to...
All cameras have spider web problems. Turrets just have fewer total problems. About the only way to eliminate the spider webs is to use remote IR lights and turn off the camera IR lights. The best camera really depends on what you need to see. I have about 14 cameras, and if I were to buy them...
It amazes me as to how STUPID people, doctors, large hospitals, politicians and the media are. We have some doctor in England producing YouTube videos, with linked evidence, (so YT doesn't boot him) showing where things are likely going, and we have the "esteemed" CDC can't even get the omicron...
You need one working camera at the switch to eliminate everything else. Plug the working camera in, make sure it is working, then, using the same cable and same port on the switch, plug in the "dead" one on the same port and cable and reset it. Hold the button down until the light goes out, hold...
BI will automatically move files. It has a staged/cascading storage system built in. But, it is not a backup system, as it moves file due to age or drive capacity.
Ask your doctor for research that shows reduced cholesterol reduces heart attacks. It does NOT exist. Period. Your doc will likely quote you studies paid for by lipitor, or other manufacturers. Statins do reduce cholesterol. The problem is that the link between cholesterol and heart attacks, in...
