    I also ran burial grade Cat 5E cable, I think it was also gel filled. I used keystone jacks at the ends, they were easy to install with a punch down tool. They sell for about a buck apiece.

    The 49225T night time image is a lot better than my Hiks. But I know there has to be better settings. My settings are factory default of 50. Anybody know what settings I should change it to, so I am not “whited” like in the photo?

    If you use POE, make sure the switch is POE+ (802.3at standard) . I’m using the one Fenderman recommended the ZyXEL switch, 5 port GbE, 4 ports POE+. $60.

    It’s been warm here in upstate NY, so I was able install my 49225T-HN today. It is installed on the side of my shed with 8 inch lag bolts. Ran the Ethernet cable up through the soffit so I did not have to make a hole in the side of the shed. Pretty simple and it is up and running.

    Try putting everything on 1 network IP (i.e. 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x) They will not see each other if they are on other networks.

    Are your computer and camera on the same network IP? Also I think the Dahua defaults to 192.168.1.108. You may have to make some changes to the IP addresses of your camera/router.

    Yeah mine had crappy Phillips heads too. Tried different Phillip head screwdrivers, but none would stay in the slot.

    Well, I don't plan on sticking an SD card in there (what an awkward place to put the SD slot) so the only reason I would have to open it up would be to reset it. Which hopefully I won't have to do.

    Thanks, the screws are torqued in there pretty good. I tried using a philips head, but they would not budge. I don’t intend to use an SD card, but if I ever have to reset it, I may have problems.

    In the installation guide, to reset the camera or add an SD card it says open the rear cover. To open the rear cover do you remove these screws? Thanks.
