    IP Camera Resolution

Here is a quick comparison of 4 random 720p images from random cameras from google: http://imgur.com/a/7aWi0 You can try to compare your own Foscam clone to these and see if you're happy with 720p resolutions other cams offer. I only listed 720p cameras here for you to compare your Foscam...

    Onvif port conflict

ONVIF has a product search on their website: http://www.onvif.org/FindaProduct/ProfileProducts.aspx If the camera model is not listed here, there is no guarantee it actually is ONVIF compliant, and this can cause any sort of problems. I just tested an older Sony camera with old firmware, that...

    can this handle 64 cameras?

Subbing for the thread to see how well it handles the load and how the load goes up. Please post results for multiple combinations if you have 64 cameras at your disposal. From the testing I've done my self, CPU growth doesn't seem to be linear as you add cameras, so you can't really calculate...

    Recording storage calculator

Each manufacturer has their own calculator and requirements for HDD, so it's not completely universal. How ever a good estimate can be gotten from pretty much any calculator, first result from google for "storage calculator cctv" was http://www.stardot.com/bandwidth-and-storage-calculator...

    Sunba Tech Cameras

Out of personal interest I would love to see if it works with our VMS software (i'll leave it without name for now, to avoid confusion about advertising :D). Would it be too much to ask if, once you get it, you could plug it in and make it accessible from the internet? I would love to see if its...

brand new 2332 *BLINKING* problems in IR mode help

That could also be caused by heavy encoding. It looks like the blinking might happen on keyframes. You could try tweaking the GOP value from encoding settings (might be called something else, dont have a hikvision camera at my desk atm to confirm) to see if the blinking slows down or speeds up...

    Anyone familiar with LinksKey?

No idea why, i'm guessing its nice and even number. 4,8,16, same with NVRs etc. You dont really see 5 or 9 channel NVRs anywhere either.. I've not heard of LinksKey (but at least they've been on the business for almost 30 years), according to the manual the switch looks good, probably worth...

    Help with fps yoyoing

It seems that the bitrate goes down with fps, but thats logical. Could you disconnect one of the cameras completely to check if one camera can stay at 10fps then? If for some reason your wifi can't handle more than 1MB/s for longer time, this could explain the yoyoing.

    Help with fps yoyoing

Bad wifi signal/connection might cause this, try lowering camera bitrate and see if that helps. Lowering bitrate will lower the quality, but also the bandwidth required, so if it makes the fps stay at a steady 9.5 (or to what it is set) it's probably signal/connection problems caused by the...

How to sharpen image of HDW4300C still pics

I don't think any digital enhancements would do you any good. Optical zoom would help you out (even a small one), but that would require manual control (and obviously a different camera) when there's someone with paper on your door.

    Ipc-hfw2300r-z

As far as i know, security business and ip cameras are not meant to be installed by your average end user with no knowledge about cameras, ip addresses or networks. I work with static IPs rather than cameras with DHCP enabled. Most of the times when you take a camera out of the package, you're...

Ping Tracer - an internet connection monitoring tool

Since I came up with another program to help me with pinging, I might aswell share it here aswell (sorry to use your thread bp2008): https://code.google.com/p/paping/ paping is a cross-platform TCP port tester/pinger. So instead of the original ping (which is blocked on Windows 7 firewall by...

Why do people use virtual servers / hypervisors?

Virtual servers are usually more cost efficient, excluding CCTV. Most services don't require 100% of all available CPU, and definitely not all the time, thus it makes sense you use the rest of the remaining CPU to other services. Virtual servers are also easier to manage than 30 Intel NUCs, less...

Ping Tracer - an internet connection monitoring tool

Very nice tool bp2008! If you're still working on this, I would love to see a history scrolling feature, and possibility to export more than just the current "screenshot". I would love to monitor connection for more than few hours and still see the results.
