What would cause BI to do this?

Hardware shouldn't be a problem since it's an i7 4790 @ 4 GHz with 16 GB of ram basically just running 12 MP of IP cameras. CPU is around 20-25%. Network is all gigabit with Cat 6 wiring. - - - Updated - - - Hmm, ok. Back to the drawing board.

What would cause BI to do this?

I have not heard back from Ken yet, but I am wondering if anyone knows what this re-triggers checkbox means? I did read the help and it almost implies that if movement is detected while an alert is happening and this checkbox is not checked, then the secondary movement might not trigger an...

What would cause BI to do this?

I have emailed him and will do whatever is necessary to get this resolved. Thanks for your help thus far. If Ken does find some obvious issue with my setup, I will post the solution.

What would cause BI to do this?

I have my settings very sensitive so I really don't think that is it. Thanks for all of your help, I guess I will email Ken and see what he suggests. I have no problem paying for support on this. Right now I can't trust BI. Can I refer him to this thread since it highlights a lot of the...

What would cause BI to do this?

No there isn't any. Video for my motion only record cameras completely stops once I add the continuous version of the camera. Right where the timeline at the bottom stops is where the video stops.

What would cause BI to do this?

So, my Front North camera totally did not generate an alert for that white SUV that I am showing above. But this time I was recording continuously and here it is: I ran the video through the "test run video through motion detector" function and the vehicle DID NOT even get highlighted until...

What would cause BI to do this?

Ok, doing the continuous record again. What the hell am I doing wrong here? It's doing the snapshot thing again: It's calling this alert 15 seconds of motion, but it's just a still image. Again, no video along the bottom, just a single alert. All I did was export both cameras, add 1 and...

What would cause BI to do this?

It's not checked. Notice the screenshots of my "record" tab on page 1. And it just happened again... As I was watching it, BI didn't even start recording until this truck was halfway across the field of view. Notice the weird "ghosting" of the highlighted motion? I think I have some type...

What would cause BI to do this?

Ok, so changing nothing other than deleting the 2 continuous record cameras has gotten my normal record on motion cameras working again. For whatever reason, when I added the 2 continuous record cameras, my record on motion cameras would not record video at all.

What would cause BI to do this?

This software is making me a little crazy I think. Now, my motion only record cameras are just recording a snapshot with no video when motion is detected: You can see the red line at the bottom of the timeline is on an alert, and movement is highlighted in the main view, but there is no blue...

What would cause BI to do this?

That does make sense. I did export my 2 front camera configs and re-import them as a continuous record (changed the originals back to record on motion). The only odd thing was I had to stop and restart the Windows service before the 2 new continuous cameras would create new clips. No big...

What would cause BI to do this?

Thanks for your help so far Fenderman. Here is an example of a continuous record from this morning: There was an alert generated and here it is: When I double click the image, it take me to when the car is where you see it above. Generally it would take me to a few seconds before the...

What would cause BI to do this?

Yes, prior to 4.3...before the new implementation of motion zones. We had an incident that happened at my neighbors house (to the left from the perspective of my cameras above). He had his rims and tires stolen off of his car at 2:20 am one morning at the beginning of this past February. Once...

What would cause BI to do this?

The latest, 4.3.0.7 x64. Things like this have happened with earlier versions as well.

What would cause BI to do this?

Live view I have set to 30 FPS...I just changed it to 20 FPS to match the cameras so I will monitor it. I would say the live view while it was at 30 FPS was very smooth. Also, when I experience this type of effect, I generally see something like this in the alert list: You can see a truck...

What would cause BI to do this?

I would have to say yes to that. A tad bit worse in the YouTube verison (I think just because of the compression, but the jerkyness is about the same), but fairly representative. Should it be smoother at 20 FPS? I currently have the latest version, 4.3.0.7 x64

What would cause BI to do this?

Here you go: Camera A: Camera B: Both use just Motion A, and there is a little square in Camera B that I don't care about because there is a little flag there that waves in the breeze (when it's not buried under snow).

What would cause BI to do this?

Iframe and FPS are set to 20 on both cameras. Pretrigger frames is 40 so I get 2 seconds of recorded time before each alert. Max bitrate is 4096 and variable bit rate on both cameras. Here are the settings for camera A: And for camera B:

What would cause BI to do this?

I have two HikVision DS-2CD3332-I cameras on the front of our house, one on the north end and the other on the south end. Both basically view the road but from different angles. Here is a short clip caught by camera A (north) that worked perfectly: You see a car from the left, and then a van...

    Weird video skipping problem

Thanks, I'll try that. Also, there is a checkbox called "Use RTSP/stream timecode" and I have all of mine (4 cameras) checked. I thought I read on here somewhere that it might cause issues? Should I uncheck it?

    Weird video skipping problem

The reason I didn't is because I didn't feel there was a setting that would just cause the video to start and stop quickly, and get stuck, and then resume the way it did. I'm keeping an eye on it now and it has not happened again, so maybe it was just a fluke.

    Weird video skipping problem

I have noticed in the recent past a few cases where my BI seems to skip parts of a video recording. Here is an example of what I am talking about: The first part is me putting a chair back onto our patio, walking right to left. That records perfectly. Then, as I walk left to right, the video...

    question on recordings

The green bar represents the span of time in which the alerts covered. So if your video clip covered the time frame 8am to 4pm, and you had an alert at 8am and another one at 4pm, the green bar would represent 8 hours, but the actual file size would be very small due to just containing 2 alerts...

That's EXACTLY what I was seeing before! Thanks for posting it. I will apply the latest update and check my "dancing mulch" to see if it's still doing it.

I use iOS app version 1.53.00 and it works just fine? Crashed once, which is very rare, but fine since then.

    4.3.0 - February 23, 2016

The darkened and excluded areas I had before 4.3 became green Zone A areas after the update. I think the solution is to make all of the detection zones green, and not do any coloring on the zones you don't care to trigger an alert on. The opposite of how I used it before.

    4.3.0 - February 23, 2016

I think that's what I'm going to have to do is just make the entire field of view green. The motion detection seems A LOT more sensitive, not just a little now...I don't even have the "High Definition" check box checked.

    4.3.0 - February 23, 2016

This particular camera does not have "use zones and hotspot" checked at all, so I take that to mean the entire field of view is one large motion detection region. At least that's how it was before. Maybe I have to figure out how to use zones now...
