Color to BW back to Color HDW5231R-ZE

I'm not quite sure you will get anybody from dahua to remotely log in and fix your cameras. Bare in mind these cameras are originally aimed at installation companies not the end user. Dahua will not entertain it as that's not their company direction or capacity. Unless of course you know a...

    Reccomend me a NVR

I agree and as above if it was for me personally I would certainly be doing a pot more close scrutiny of the bandwidth numbers. But as it's for a friend of mine and the initial 5 cameras is plenty. Theres scope for a couple more cameras should they be needed but certainly no more, so in this...

    Reccomend me a NVR

Thanks pal. In this use case there certainly isn't the need for the more advanced AI features of the pro series If it was for me personally then I would argue there was. But as it is for a friend who simply wants a plug and play solution that has accessible playback and mobile app access...

    Reccomend me a NVR

That's ome thing I have been looking at. It seems like most of the more recent nvr support up to 320Mbps Which should be plenty for 4 cameras st either 2mp or 4mp But I may be missing something as its s while since I dealt with nvrs as I use BI myself now

    Reccomend me a NVR

Going to be doing an install for a friend who's had enough of the rubbish ones he has currently. Initially we are going for a 4 camera system either the 2mp 5231R-ZE or the 4mp 5442TM-AS The camera side I'm fine with but I would like reccomendations on the best NVR for the job. As I've used...

    Installation question about resolution

You need to realise that digital zoom is that digital. It will only increase the size of what you have noise and all. If you need good low light the 2mp low light or "dark fighter" are the best at the moment. Instead of reaching for more pixels at the first sign of needing more zoom. I...

tool head broke off in set screw of Starlight Housing

In my case the actual tool broke inside the screw when I was undoing it for the first time brand new. The supplied keys are soft as you kind of expect for a supplied tool. So it's just a case of being as careful as possible. Agree though you dont need to tighten the screw really tight just...

My wife is trying to make me buy Reolink for Prime Day

I second all of the above. All the long time contributors are here to help and wont sell you or tell you BS! I started with hikvision and now moved over to the dahua starlight line. (Well worth it). I've also moved from a dedicated nvr to a dedicated blue iris machine. Take the advice and...

tool head broke off in set screw of Starlight Housing

I had this happen to me! I had to drill the set screw out. If you go with a smaller drill bit that the screw once you get so far because its softer material it will fracture and basically fall out. Just go careful and it will be fine

Show me some of you ideas for hiding cameras.

Love that my man! Do you have any pricing for those models? They dont mention starlight tech but the figures on lux look to be ok, I'm just thinking with it being 4mp, dont want a poor image Also how much is the main box?

Show me some of you ideas for hiding cameras.

I'm actually warming to the idea of making a box type enclosure that incorporates the house number. So something like a 3d house number plaque. The only thing with that is the size it will need to be in terms of depth so house a starlight. Even the new smaller 4mp turret ones are a fair...
