Hi all,
The server and hard drives which BI is installed has become full and as per the rules, has started to move data to elsewhere.
For some reason, all of the alerts JPEG's have been removed from the local drive to overspill which is a NAS and when i go to playback clips from a camera, I...
I have a clip which I'd like to upload to you tube and whilst I understand how it is done, I am not sure if that clip will remain in BI once it has been exported. Can you please advise?
I've just logged onto the server and see that my support expires today. It looks like I have two options; extended service or priority support. Does anybody have any experience of what is best to get? Presumably, if you don't do anything then you wont be allowed any upgrades?
Presumably you also copy the alerts and new folder and all other directories to the new machine too? How about the DB folder would you copy this or would you let this create itself?
I was at a premises today and watching some cctv whilst waiting to speak to somebody. When one of the cameras picked up motion of say a moving vehicle, it would follow the vehicle around as far as possible.
It got me wondering whether BI would do this. Anybody assist, please?
I've got a response back from Ken which states:
The trigger icon remains on until you either click on the video window, or view any recording form the camera. This may be done from the PC console or the client app on iOS/Android, or a web browser. The status of the trigger is remembered per-user.
1. I do not think there has been another trigger.
2. Yes, there is a red border around the camera when it records and this goes away when recording ceases.
3. Yes, the triangle is to the left of the red circular record icon.
The break time is 15 seconds and even after motion has ceased and the 15 seconds has elapsed, the trigger icon is still on. If I click onto the camera, the trigger icon goes away.
I'm not sure - I'd need to check.
I suspect what might be happening is that the software has correctly sensed motion and the trigger icon is staying on.
I've noticed that possibly upgrading to the latest version, on each camera the red warning triangle is showing. If you simply single clikc onto each camera, the triangle vanishes. Has anybody else experienced this?
What format would you have to save the video in and what would happen to the alerts?
Back to your question; purely to save on space. If I've got a file which is say 6GB and I only need say 100MB, doesn't it make sense?
If, for example, I have an eight hour bvr file and seven hours 58 seconds of this file is rubbish, can I cut the rubbish out, keep the two minutes and then have it so that BI will record it in it's database?
I would definitely not use the cameras own on board motion settings because for starters if you have different cameras on your network, you have to use the different settings whereas with BI, they are all there in the same place and under the same roof so as to speak. And not to mention they are...
Thanks for the links people but I am getting the message the licence has been entered too many times and must be reset. Hope BI support comes back to me quickly.
