    Long Range POE Cable Run

Thanks for the input. Both the ePoe and the veracity devices look perfect. Not cheap especially the Veracity stuff. Not sure why Veracity don’t do kits. If one didn’t read it correctly you wouldn’t know you have to buy two devices for it to work. I will let you know it it all goes. Cheers

    Long Range POE Cable Run

Looking to see what my options are. Need a camera that will be located somewhere near 250m half way down a lane way. There is no electricity so the camera needs to be powered by Poe. Is there anyway to run Poe to the camera at such a distance? Not sure on the camera to use and if to use a fixed...

That’s the Hikvision you ordered then? If so, is it a brute in size?

HIKVISION PTZ DARKFIGHTER CAMERA SPECIAL OFFER

Why are the majority of his Hikvision products at £0 and then he has this PTZ with a price and at a huge discount? Must be flogging all his remaining Hikvision stock. Great camera for the price though. Could do with a PTZ.

Any news of Hikvision 4K Turrets?

The DS-2CD2385FWD-I aren’t low level light cams.

Any news of Hikvision 4K Turrets?

DS-2CD2385FWD-I It’s a 4K Hik turret. Apparently very good daytime footage but like all non low level light cams, they aren’t great in the dark. The DS-2CD2335FW-I is what I use for better night capture.

    Is this switch overkill??

What are you guys using that require so many poe ports?

New house surveillance system: any suggestions?

I know the starlights are cracking cameras for low light detail but does no one recommend a higher MP cam for daylight footage especially these 4/5/6/4K cams? Or is it a case, that if the cams are outside, MP goes out the window as low level light performance is more important?

    PoE Switch Suggestion List

Has anyone used a Hikvision switch? Saw them for sale so just wondering if someone had anything to say about them?

    Any big advances

The low light range seems to have stopped since the Hik 2335’s and it’s been donkeys since the starlights came out. Doesn’t seem to be much info of anything coming out in that area unless I’m not paying enough attention. Too quiet for my liking.

    Milesight ip cameras

Anyone with update info on this brand? I've heard that several resellers are using Milesight as a replacement for Hikvision.

Is 2MP Hik better than 3MP at night? Really?

Looking to do another install for a guy and again I noticed several folk claiming they would opt for the 2385 over the 2335 especially if money wasn't a factor. Several have stated the 2385 produces a nearly on par picture in low light because of the higher MP. Found this It's difficult to...

    New cam releases

Just wondering where is the best place to find out if there any new Hikvision cams coming out? Got a few jobs coming up. These 5mp/8mp turrets seem to be the last cams to come out but not sure if they are worth putting in and should stick to the 3MP low level light turrets (2335)? Any new low...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Ah, they have it stated different on the product page of their website. Very misleading.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

A guy is at me to get him some DS-2CD2355FWD-I cams instead of the 2335 as he says they are a low level cam also at a higher MP. Is that true? The spec states 0.05 Lux the same as the 2335 but no mention of low level light.

Using VPN to access cameras behind carrier grade NAT (3G/4G)

Just tested it for you. Works 100% via my iPhone 20 mile away via O2 4G. Cameras are connected on Vodafone 4G. So Yes it works great.

Using VPN to access cameras behind carrier grade NAT (3G/4G)

The HIk-Connect app is useless. IVMS-4500 was updated and seems to have better support for cloud devices with Hik-Connect integrated. I wasn't impressed with EZVIZ but things have changed for the better. Not as quick as port forwarding and with less control but seems to work.

Using VPN to access cameras behind carrier grade NAT (3G/4G)

Thanks for that. I had thought about a VPN connection which I recently tested using some fantastic Mikrotik kit but both client and server were on fiber so would need to test with client behind a 4G router. Has no cameras installed though but the connection worked. I know the vpn server could...

Using VPN to access cameras behind carrier grade NAT (3G/4G)

Just found this thread @th3bloody9 What did you end up doing? I have several farmers at me to install cameras over 4G, Vodafone UK and this Private IP is a pain in the ass. Currently about to test Hivisions cloud method. Cheers

Hikvision no longer selling to the end user

God damn it. I have installed numerous installations for people and I know they will be back to add more cameras. This leaves one in an awkward position does it not? Some guy asks me tomorrow to install some cams and I will be querying whether to stick with Hik. What a shower of twats.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

The design of the 2335 is miles better than the likes of the 2332/2342 etc. So easy to come off and put back on now especially if you were fixing the turret to a flush surface.

    Large installation Multiple Switches

Have any of you guys worked in larger scale projects? I have been asked to install cctv in a few warehouse buildings with some buildings being located behind one another. An electrician at some stage has left cat6 between the buildings which I can't add more to or change. Cable is fine as I...

Drop them a message. If they have them they will tell you. A friend of mine just took delivery of 2335's from a uk source next day delivery of a guy on eBay at an excellent price.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

They are actually more expensive than the 2335 going by my supplier. Daylight would be a lot better than the 2335 but poor in low light conditions. Depends on your cameras purpose?

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

There is no doubt some of the 4K cams out now like the 2385 look fantastic during the day and even at night they look great thanks to it being a low level light can also. Only downside I have with these higher mp cams is realtime watching is so slow and even some of the playback isn't great...

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

During the day the 4MP is better. You notice the difference when you need to read a car plate number. The higher the MP, the easier it is to read it. My cams are positioned so they are easy read even for 2MP cams. I can afford to use a 3MP if it means I get a superior image in low level night.

DS-2CD2335FWD-I - Hikvision Ultra Low Light 3M camera

Just an update from an earlier post in regards to me not getting Hik-Connect to work with on my 2335's. Got them to work after reading the user manual in its box. Anyway the 2335 aren't like the 2342 etc. The verification code is printed on the side of the 2342 but for the 2335's, you have to...
