It's the same bug as with the emails missing the translation. Tried on both chinese and english firmware -> works. However the translation file in my firmware is not missing those strings, I'll investigate, thanks. Edit: It seems to be my stripped down translation file, why I do not know though. -

I don't understand the question? Just extract the zip file, .bat files are fine how they are. Then you need to extract your cameras firmware.bin into the root folder so you have the .img files in the root folder. Running Commands.bat reads the commands.txt and generates the upgrade_info.txt file... -

Pretty sure that a bad bootloader wouldn't give you anything. Is there a pattern in the scrolling? Like it prints chunks, waits between the chunks, stops completely after a while? You can test if your bootloader works by capturing all the network traffic coming from the camera, e.g. plug it... -

Google the exact model, if it shows up on the U.S. Dahua site then it should be an international model, if not then it probably isn't? No clue if that's how it works, but there seems to be no specific indication in the model number. Maybe something in the S/N? -

The PCB/hardware is identical - so no stronger encoders. The only difference I know of is one GPIO having a different voltage level on the chinese model vs. international model. Patching that one single check in the software and it will think it is running on an international model. Metal case... -

If you don't try to flash english firmware on a chinese model then you should be fine. Dahua purposely put an almost immediate reboot into their software when it detects english language on a chinese region model. The serial recovery process isn't the only one though after what @resegun... -
