Not an easy task without hardware, certainly... But give it a try I guess: https://i.botox.bz/DH_NVR7xxx_Chn_P_V3.200.0000.0.R.20160412.bin And please report if it works, maybe I can apply the same to other NVRs too.

Dahua Firmware Mod Kit + Modded Dahua Firmware

Okay, haha, very funny Dahua. Their translation file is saved as UTF-8 with BOM header (three bytes at the start of the file: 0xEF 0xBB 0xBF) Mine was saved as normal UTF-8 (without the BOM header/3 bytes). What a weird bug.. Updated lang.py to save as utf-8-sig now, do the following to fix a...

It's the same bug as with the emails missing the translation. Tried on both chinese and english firmware -> works. However the translation file in my firmware is not missing those strings, I'll investigate, thanks. Edit: It seems to be my stripped down translation file, why I do not know though.

I don't understand the question? Just extract the zip file, .bat files are fine how they are. Then you need to extract your cameras firmware.bin into the root folder so you have the .img files in the root folder. Running Commands.bat reads the commands.txt and generates the upgrade_info.txt file...

You need to prepend that stupid magic string for the password like said here: Dahua Enable Telnet I doubt it's the -ZS since I have not released firmware for that with russian language. (But will today since you've confirmed it works fine on your camera) Lets hope this bring us even cheaper...

Does look like mine judging by available languages and having easy4ip, access platform and auto register. You can also check if they are running telnetd on port 2300. Which seller/product link is this if I may know?

Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

A successor of Dahua IPC unbricking / recovery over serial UART and TFTP I recommend you to read through the above thread first. If your camera still has a working bootloader (assume it does) then you can flash it easily, because: The camera tries to download a file called...

Found something else, on successful TFTP connection the camera sends the log over UDP to 192.168.254.254 on port 5002. So following line would let one see the output of the TFTP commands they executed: nc -u -l -p 5002 -k Which gives following output: gBootLogPtr:80b80008. Check spi flash...

Pretty sure that a bad bootloader wouldn't give you anything. Is there a pattern in the scrolling? Like it prints chunks, waits between the chunks, stops completely after a while? You can test if your bootloader works by capturing all the network traffic coming from the camera, e.g. plug it...

That is very interesting, but yeah I actually do not know if they sell the same model number in china and internationally with the country bit flipped. Is your camera bootlooping, e.g. turning on and off all the time (probably visible by the IR light turning off sometimes) Or is the IR light...

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Well since it is the same hardware they should both be FCC/CE approved, for what it matters. The $52 difference for a metal base is not worth the difference for me. I don't want to support this price differentiating and purposefully crippling of software to gain more profit for the _exact same...

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

Just a heads up: Chinas has 1.357 billion citizens. And it's a surveillance state ;) They are not B Stock items and there are no problems with chinese cameras. What do you think everyone is using in china?

Google the exact model, if it shows up on the U.S. Dahua site then it should be an international model, if not then it probably isn't? No clue if that's how it works, but there seems to be no specific indication in the model number. Maybe something in the S/N?

    Pixelated motion on IPC-HFW4431R-Z

The PCB/hardware is identical - so no stronger encoders. The only difference I know of is one GPIO having a different voltage level on the chinese model vs. international model. Patching that one single check in the software and it will think it is running on an international model. Metal case...

If you don't try to flash english firmware on a chinese model then you should be fine. Dahua purposely put an almost immediate reboot into their software when it detects english language on a chinese region model. The serial recovery process isn't the only one though after what @resegun...

    Dahua Enable Telnet

Get in with serial into the bootloader, then do "setenv dh_keyboard 0" and "boot". You should have a root shell now where you can use the following script to backup all the mtd partitions: #!/bin/bash echo "Backing up to: $(pwd)" echo "Enter to continue, CTRL-C to abort." read cp /proc/mtd...

Reset button won't help. Disassemble, dry everything thoroughly, let it sit in rice or silica gel. Confirm it works after drying.
