As it doesn't have optical zoom it wont suit but interesting suggestion/idea

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

I noticed this camera and got excited. 6MP and a big image sensor.... But then realised I think it isn't motorised pan and tilt, just a fixed dome even though it doesn't state "fixed" but does imply... Damn IPC-HDBW8630E-Z - Dahua Technology

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

Seems these two suit but not sure if they are better than the dahua ones i listed..they are more expensive. The second 2mp one has a larger sensor but will this help in a space that doesnt need low light performance? HikVision DS-2CD4332FPTZ2 and DS-2CD4332FPTZ8 CCTV Mini-PTZ Dome Camera CSD |...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

There There is also a 2mp version with a slightly bigger sensor 1/2.7 instead of 1/3... but my feeling is in decent lighting that more detail should be gained with the 4MP... think = please dont hesitate to correct me. I know MP isnt everything. I really have limited experience other than...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

I think the dome or wiper is required as they will be elevated and likely collext dust. I feel a wiper one might be better suited to water than fine dust however

We need pan tilt as well but thanks

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

Our avs department will make the purchase and they were suggesting $2k to $5k cameras so can't imagine them getting them from overseas. They have found a local distributor although had challenges getting return phone calls from dahua australia initially. I can't find anything else suitable so...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

Thanks. I arrived at this one previously as it was one the few I could find that achieved a fov of 100 degree horizontal SD22404T-GN - Dahua Technology

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

So its proving harder than expected to find something that is somewhat dust resistant (either dome or a wiper based camera) with PTZ that covers a fov (horizontal) of 30 - 100 degrees preferably. I am hoping someone may have a suggestion. Based in Australia and limit is $3k a camera give or...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

I don't think I have limits on suppliers or brands, that something I asked but they didn't think I'd have restrictions. We have restrictions due to agreements on a lot of other electrical gear but supposedly not these. In saying that, I would imagine it needs to be am Australian distributor...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

Audio requirements is more to capture when things go bang, or when things are creaking and groaning on our table or for announcements of what is being tested. It's more for records and piecing all our videos together. I hear you about whether these are the best, but the thought was they are...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

The reason for the IP camera's is so we have video of one area from the same angle every time. This same camera may be moved to record something else, but will return it back to the same PT&Z to record a motion platform we have (It's actually a small seismic/shake table). The frequencies of the...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

I really don't know a lot so throwing these options out there to see if I am looking at the wrong things... I would imagine these will mount on a colum or wall, rather than ceiling mounted. They are used for recording what happens, not security after all. It appears I need a FOV of between 30...

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

No fps requirement really. Although one of them would be beneficial to have 30fps at full resolution... and somewhat useful to have 60fps at reduced resolution, say 720p... But it's not critical. Any high speed video will be done by other video camera's.

Camera decisions for a laboratory environment

I'm looking at getting three IP cameras in our new testing laboratory in Sydney Australia to record some tests we do. Both video and also some time lapse. They will not be used for surveillance although I don't think that changes things other than the low light levels requirement. The camera's...

    Multi trigger sources

I guess this weekend will be an hour of trying and experimenting then. If anyone has any suggestions however, they will still be welcome.

Blue iris and triggering from outside

Concept working. Can trigger Blue Iris cameras with the esp8266 due to a laser trip wire, so final polishing and installation to go.

    Multi trigger sources

I want a single camera to be triggered by the motion detection in blue iris for it to record video and run a script which then triggers autoremote (tasker addon for my Android automation, which also involves using autoghost with a autoremote plugin on my pc) to turn my lights on. This currently...

Blue iris and triggering from outside

That worked for my mobile browser so should be good to move onto assigning a fixed ip for my esp8266 and sorting my code out in arduino ide now. That advice has likely saved me loads of headaches as I haven't seen that advice anywhere else... Although I admit I should have probably consulted...

Thanks for the response. One is the long and the other is the short name. I was just experimenting. Good job noticing that

Both url end here after the login request (which I didn't think I'd need to do with the url that contains the login details already) http://192.168.1.100:818/admin?camera=Car As you can see, I'm new to this concept so have a lot to learn.

Blue iris and triggering from outside

So I'm creating an esp8266 project where I have created laser trip wires connected to a nodemcu (esp8266 device) that I hope to trigger camera recording and turn lights on. The best way is through the internet so I can integrate the device with Blue Iris and also my automation android box...

Is there a way to work out motion settings from recorded video?

Oh OK. I will look there thanks. I have previously looked through the help file for other descriptions/help and at the time it didn't appear to explain in much detail. I guess maybe there is more info and helpful guidance there than I had thought.

Is there a way to work out motion settings from recorded video?

As per the title, I am hoping to go through and assess what motion settings would work with certain recordings that were meant to record, and change settings so the ones that weren't meant to record don't. I am assuming there is no tool for this? So the only way is to make changes then test for...

    Camera advice

Thanks. Very Helpful. Is there a reason why you don't loathe that particular camera though? Is it because it's one of the few fully compatible cameras? My wifi router (netgear D7) is only about 20m away and one single wall. Current camera is ok on wifi so far.

    Camera advice

Still curious about the camera choice (although I'm reluctant without using them in blue iris) seeing I'm reassessing if I can get off my arse, dig a trench, run a cable, find where to enter the house and create an Ethernet wall plate near the router. I could go the "lazy" route and run...

    Camera advice

"SUPPORT ONVIF PROTOCOL AND ALMOST ALL CAMERAS" This is one reason I'm looking at a different brand if I buy more cameras. While most things work on my sricam sp019 the Presets and two way audio don't work. This is one of the major reasons I was curious about duhua cameras compatibility. But...

    Camera advice

This post started as wanting to know some options for cameras that are reasonably cheap. So at this stage I'm now gonna see how many times my existing wifi cameras have dropped out and work out if it's a big problem for me. Is there any other reason wifi is bad? I dropped 2.4ghz wifi for...

    Camera advice

Because I started this purely for motion detection to run lights on and put my projector screen up if I come through the back entrance. I live in a really low crime area and the cameras weren't initially for this. I sometimes leave my back door unlocked shhh. These cameras that aren't so...
