What is better for blueiris more cpu cores or GHz?

You all think for a standalone CPU: 1) 2.7GHZ i5-6400 Quad, w 8GB RAM soley dedicated to Blue Iris and my Home Automation (VeraPlus) would work well? Current price $399 plus w/ only 4GB RAM and I would add another 4GB OR 2) i7-6700 Quad (Skylarke), 8GB for $499 is overkill for that? Currently...

What is better for blueiris more cpu cores or GHz?

I'm in similar situation. Only have 7 cameras and currently have i7 w 16GB ram and still can't use any other programs as BI takes a lot of memory. I just ran a memory test since I couldn't believe all the ram was working but it was. So next step is standalone CPU. I'm considering an i5 6500...

Set up alert/trigger to send command to Vera / Z-wave?

Evening all... I'm getting there in setting up my system and wanted to know if there's a guide or previous thread outlining how to have BI interact with Vera. For example: I set up a specific motion zone on my outdoor camera, what I would like to do is if there is motion in the zone...

Camera Export not working, causing freeze and unable to close Properties out

I'm trying to export my camera properties in order to clone the camera for another feed. I open properties, click export, and nothing appears to happen. I then try to click OK or CANCEL and I cannot close the camera properties window. I also cannot "X" it out. The feed in the background...

DISREGARD - Camera disappeared from BI feed on CPU but still on iPhone.

Hi, I have BI4, had 7 cameras set up, I went into camera 1 to export the settings and BI froze. I had to End Task and reload BI, upon reloading that camera is not in BI CPU interface. It still appears on my iPhone so I know it's there. I checked Show Hidden Cameras, just in case, but still...

Can you set up two motion triggers on same camera?

Wondering if this is possible... Here's my setup for the camera: One camera in the front of my house, I have it to record when there is general motion, so when a car passes or activity on sidewalk it will record. I have enough HD space to allow me to do so. What I would also like is to set up...

What model Hikvision Turret to get better motion license plate capture? See PIC

Morning all... I have a Hikvision/LTS CMIP3042 4mm 4.1mp in my front yard mounted under the eve of 2nd floor (20ft above ground). The distance from the house to curb is approx 40ft. As you can see in the snapshot, I can't catch a clear video/snapshot of a moving vehicle with the plate or even...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

all good points... Again I think i think too much. If I didn't just finish an overbudget remodel, and had some extra funds the wall mount rack is definitely nicer/cleanest way to go. I definitely want it neat, I plan to make it as neat as possible on the wire shelving rack, no lose wires etc...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

@drew91101 Yea, I see your point. But really the POE switch and one other switch is only thing mounted to wall. I was just hoping to when/if I need to get behind the rack to not have to remove alot of patch cables/switches, which is why I was thinking of two switches one on wall and one on...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

@tangent, yes that's what I'm planning. all my CAT cables homeruned to the wall right behind the "rack". Put a 24 port patch panel on the wall, that patch panel will handle my POE cameras and also any other CAT cables coming down to that area. From that patch panel, I plan to also have a...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

So my rack is actually a NFS 5 shelf system on wheels, (about $120) again this is home residential, so I didn't want to go crazy and also wanted to keep my AV equipment in same area so the rack you linked wouldn't have worked. I am going to use the POE switch (8port) soley for my 5-6 IP...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

Thanks yes. Answer your question - because on my rack I will have my computer (nvr), modem/router, audio reciever, cable box, etc. Therefore, if I'm thinking it out correctly, I need a switch on the rack for all of that stuff and also a switch on the wall if I don't want to have multiple patch...
